Site Update
Just a quick note to say we're extending the Art Gallery for the New Years theme until Monday January 6th at 11:59 p.m.!
If you already submitted your entry for the following theme, Egg Hatching, no worries, our system will keep it in queue for you.
We'll also be wiping out the Seasonal Shop tomorrow evening around this time.
You get a few bonus days for purchases since you hadn't gotten a 24-hour warning yet. ;)
I also wanted to let everyone know that due to the severe winter weather in Canada and the US, several of our staff and programmers are currently impacted by power outages/technical issues, or will be in the coming days. So, hopefully half of staff won't turn into popsicles. XD
Stay warm if you're in a chilly path!

Pet Emporium Bonanza!

Hello there everyone, my name is Miksa! I've been running around Aywas for quite a bit now working on saving up enough money for my own shop. Right as I got enough blue paws, Xero put his shop up for sale! It was just meant to be.
More like threw that shop in the trash and she picked it up. Ugh. If there were a trash can big enough for it, it'd be there. It was stinky and dirty and I HATED taking care of those pets. Good riddance.
Awww, now now. Pets create natural odors. Some are pleasant and some are... not ideal. The trick is to not put the smelly pets in a confined room! And the dirt just needed a broom and a pan to take care of. And maybe a mop.
Well at least that's not my problem anymore. Glad to hear you've fixed it up and are happy with it but I'm even gladder that I can leave it to you. *slinks away*
Indeed! I'll take good care of it, don't you worry.
And without further ado, I wish to present to you...
Miksa's Exotic Pet Emporium!
I thought this name would suite it much better.
And with the new name comes an entire new stock of pets! I found all of these pretty pets the past few weeks on some of my cataloguing missions and figured they'd be happy to have some loving homes.
I decided not to change the stock rotation schedule, however. As usual the stock will change every 3 months. After the 3 months, the pets currently in stock will be permanently retired and a new stock will replace them. So buy them while you can!
I've also found a few new pets out in the wilderness of the Aywas world. I couldn't make them tame enough to sell in the pet shop so I'll just show you them so you can catch them yourself.
If you want to design some Adventure pets, go and post them in their respective threads here! There's also a chance that the designs accepted from that forum will go into the Pet Shop! Remember, you can earn SP!
If your design is now in the pet shop or in the new adventure release please contact Kyu (#1010) for your free copy.
You may notice that all the threads in the Pet Coloration Submissions Forum are new. Mauri (#1010) fixed up that forum a bit and a few things were changed.
All old threads were locked and moved to the archive. If she commented on one of your posts asking you to edit a design you posted, please post the new edited design in the new thread for that genus.
The forum now requires a form to be filled out to submit colorations. A main addition to the process is requiring .PSD files to be linked in the post when you submit the design. This should hopefully ensure that the site collection and the breeding artists have all .PSD files for any site pets added after this point. Please read the Pet Colorations 101 thread before submitting a design. Another point worth mentioning is we would prefer you linking the .PSD files via dropbox, sta.sh, or google drive, all of which are free to use. If a .PSD file for the pet is not linked with the design, your design will not be accepted.
This .PSD file requirement will soon spread to all contests and events that allow pets to be submitted to the site. This will include Monthly BP and GP shop pet threads and other event pet threads.
Phew! That's been quite a long news post so far. But I'm not done yet! (Hang in there, the end is soon!)
Along with the new Adventure pets, I've been given the fun task of pulling the tickets for the pet coloration submissions forum raffle! Oh, I just love these sorts of games!

And one last little thing, Graymare (#14978) asked me to mention that the item that was known as "Hybrid Genus Vouchers" got a name change! It's now called "Seasonal Genus Vouchers". This should hopefully be a less confusing name since this item doesn't make Hybrid Pets.
And I think that should be it! I'm beaming like the sun; I'm just so happy. I'm in a bit of disbelief that I own my a pet store now. I hope everyone likes the new look and please don't mind the paint paw prints on the floor. I'm cleaning those up since a certain Pawpaint Unus tracked those in.

Here is the updated version of the Violinn that we have finalized. The edits were suggested by contributor user God (#4), who designed the Finn.

Jeweled Crystal

If you've been watching the Item Database, you'll notice the Jeweled Crystal was just released! This is a custom making item that contains five edited common pet bases.
You can use the item to color and upload your base of choice.
The Jeweled Crystal is available in the USD Shop for $4.99, and you can read more about it and its base cycling in the Knowledge Base.
In other news, we have been tweaking the Violinn lines, and the result of that is located on the Aywas tumblr. We hope you like the edited lines and will be updating them shortly.

Breeding Season

Breeding Coins are back in the GP Shop until January 8!
The Mutske and the Lackei are here to greet you! The Mutske is Linorm x Woolith, and the Lackei is Arion x Kaba.
The Hybrid Genetics Kit is back for another round of fun and making obtaining those perfect hybrids easier. It's not only available free with purchases of 50 GP or more, but it's purchasable outright for $9.99 in the USD Shop, where it will hang out with the PLBC.
But that's not all...
A new rare hybrid has emerged...
The Violinn!
The Violinn is a hybrid between the Finn and the Vion. Similar to a Neura, these are rare hybrids, and thus must be obtained differently from other hybrids. The Scaled Seed allows you to make a custom Violinn, and the Dragon Lotus allows you to breed for one.
Both of these items are available in the SP Shop for 35 SP (breeding) and 40 SP (custom), and will be permanent residents of the shop.
