You may have noticed these new Adventure pets roaming around. These pets are excited to find new homes!

Cross Site Trading: PSA

This is another PSA about cross site trading (trading Aywas content for content on other sites).
There is a rising amount of scamming being done regarding cross site trading. This generally involves trade with a site that does not have very good customer service for scams.
If you are doing any trading for Aywas stuff, tell the person with the Aywas content to send it first. If they are offering you GP, items, pets, etc. for your off-site stuff, you must ask them to send it first for both parties to be completely protected. Otherwise, if you send your off-site items/pets/etc first, and that person does not have the content to send you, you will not be able to receive any assistance from Aywas Staff.
Unfortunately a number of sites do not protect their users or recover scammed materials so make sure you get your Aywas content in your account first before you send off any offsite content.
Aywas staff CANNOT HELP YOU if you lose your stuff offsite. And if the offsite staff is not helpful, you will lose out completely. Be proactive and trade safely by asking for Aywas content first.

Let the Love Letters fly!

The Adore-a-Gram Lunaris has returned for a couple of weeks to supply us with seemingly endless pink and red envelopes inked with sweet nothings~
It seems there will be a Love Letter waiting for everyone in the Advent Calendar on February 2nd. How sweet!
Before you send your Love Letter zipping off through the Ay skies to a friend, a Valentine, or a stranger, pull up a chair and grab a Love Latte while I review how our annual mail event works. :3
Love Letter Event
Love Letters are sitting at a pretty R20 and can be found anywhere you can obtain R20 items (adventure, cooking, dailies, etc.). They will also randomly pop up in the Random Crap shop.
(As always, we will monitor the numbers and make sure that the letters aren't being too shy!)
Each time you send a card to a unique user (meaning, to an account you haven't sent a card to yet), you AND the recipient will each receive 1 Valentine Point.
You will be able to spend these points in the Seasonal Shop on a bunch of sweet treats!
(Tentative date for opening the shop is February 14th, and Love Letters will be findable and deliverable until the shop closes.)
To send a card to someone for Valentine Points, click on the Love Letter in your inventory and hit Use to bring up the prompt. We have a confirmation screen to ensure your letter reaches the correct destination safely!
New this year: You must put some sort of message inside the letter, you cannot send a blank one.
*Please note: We have tested basic HTML (images, links, breaks) and all seem to be working properly!*

If I send you a card, we both get 1 point!
If you want to send me a card in return, we both get 1 point again! (Aww, you're a peach. <3)
So that is 2 points for each of us for a card swap.
In my blushing flurry and moment of overwhelming emotion, I might want to send you a second card. I can do so, but neither of us will receive any additional points. (I hope you still appreciate the thought! ;~;)

Welcome to the fabulous month of February!
Though February is a few days short of the other months, we'll make sure it's packed with goodies. :3
Let's kick off this lovey-dovey time of year with some GP Shop pets that are eager to cuddle with you!

We will also be collecting pet PSDs directly from the thread, so you no longer have to send them in. However, please make sure you keep the links active for two weeks (at least until mid-February) so we have time to snag 'em for science!

Using this potion on your active pet will randomly change it into one of the colors above. Try a swig of this sweet juice and see what you get!

Skills and Scarls
Starting February off, we have a number of new things for you to enjoy, including a new species obtained in a unique way through Adventure.
The Scarl is a pet you've seen before - there was a call for PSD files for it during the last weeks of January. It is a rare pet that is made with an item called a Mermaid's Purse.
This custom item allows you to make a 50% edited Scarl. But, it's different from other custom makers. Mermaid's Purse is account bound, which means it cannot be sold, traded, or given away (though the pet made from it can be).
You can also only have one on your account at a time, which means you need to make a Scarl before you obtain another Mermaid's Purse.
Mermaid's Purse are obtained through the "Hidden Item" hook of Adventure - you've probably seen it before, it goes like this:
If you come across a hidden item and obtain it, there's a small chance you'll get the custom making item along with it. But remember, if you already have one, you can't get another one until you use it!
Each pet is naturally born with a skill depending on its genus, and all pets have at least one natural skill. However, now you can obtain items to give your pets additional hidden item skills!
You can either buy the skill items at the Explore Shop for 6,500,000 BP each, or you can pick up a pack of four skills in the USD Shop for $15.00, depending on your preference.
Pets with all four hidden item skills will be able to pick up any hidden item they see, and will have a much higher chance of obtaining a Mermaid's Purse because you must successfully pick up the hidden item to have a chance at the custom maker.
The Edit Repository is what we are rolling out along with the Scarl release. This is a feature where artists can upload their FREE USE PSDs for custom pets (the only rule is that the PSD needs to be free. Any other rules can be indicated by the artist in the comments of the submission). Other users can download the PSDs, color them, and submit them to the custom queue.
Folks who were hired to create Scarl PSDs: please upload the designs you made to this new feature now. Other users will be able to enjoy them and start on submitting their Scarls right away. All designs paid for during that period will be automatically ruled Blue if not further edited by the player.
The repository will have a queue that is managed by multiple edit check trainees. They will mark whether a PSD is bronze, blue, gold, or silver for reference. When you turn in a repository custom pet that has not been edited further, indicate on your custom notes if the pet was ruled in the repository as that crystal to speed your service. (Please note that the customs department reserves the right to adjust the "color" of a repository PSD if a mistake is made, as these are our trainees.)
The repository is a neat feature that allows you to tag your PSDs with themes, and search by the themes, crystal color, and by pet genus.
Last (and admittedly forgotten), the experience gained per monster battle has been bumped up to about double what it was before. This month staff is going to be looking into the EXP curve of leveling and battling to make it more reasonable and fun to play.
We regret to inform you that the adventure recoders have dropped their project, so we will be working with adventure as it is.

Quick Search Fix

This cheerful Kaba is super excited that now when you do a quick search for a pet, the Location Details are displaying the correct information!
If you're not sure what I mean, take the Sea Wave Chromo for example. Though the "Locations Found" and "Location Details" in the normal Aywapedia view have always matched up, when you viewed the pet from the quick search, the details would say "Desert." Basically, the quick view would add a +1 to all of the linked locations, resulting in some confusion, which has now been remedied. :3
Woohoo!
Tip: Don't use the quick search often? Try it out! It's really useful for finding pets if you're a collector of a certain type, since you can search for words like "rainbow," "dragon," or--in my case this afternoon--"happy"!
