Welcome to December - Part 2
Site Update
Our second major December news post has a lot to go through, so be sure to read it carefully!
This month's Jeweled pets are beautiful critters drawn by kat $ hasul (#6480)! Some even have a little holiday cheer added to them.
The Premium Item for this month is the Christmas Edits Pack. It's a new PLBC add-on that adds a pre-made edit to your breeding. You can see all the edits in this pack here.
Christmas items are stocking again!
Stockings have popped into the GP Shop as well for the festivities! They make excellent gifts for your favorite person's Aywas Stocking. Each stocking has a chance of opening into progressively better items.
The random Holiday gifts are back in the GP Shop! In case you don't remember what they do...
Flaming Pudding - a cheap random chance item to get custom crystals.
Random Breeding Coin - yields a random breeding coin.
Tiny Giftbox - tiny chance of opening up into a Holiday Breeding Pendant.
Wrapped Crystal - yields a random custom crystal.
Christmas Tree items are a great way to spoil your friends. Put in five of your friends' ID numbers, and they will be sent a random item from the GP Shop.
Delicious Eggnogs are back! They have a 1 in 10 chance of a successful Breeding Coin breeding with the next (or previous) pet that also successfully bred.
REMEMBER - to make it easier on the artists and breeding team in general (because PSDs are often a problem), they will roll a hybrid base for the babies and function like a Breeding Coin, edit wise. That way, we can all expect high quality babies from the item without any PSD issues.
Interested in being an Eggnog artist? Babies are 30% edited and pay $15. Send a message with your samples. Black Friday artists are encouraged to apply.
The BP Shop is seeing some activity as well! You can grab a Holiday Colored Coal to make some uncommon pets that are holiday themed, or a Holiday Rare Potion to make some rare pets that are holiday themed (note that Teos and Fauxes aren't going to be part of any custom maker, sorry!).
Random Holiday items are fun for stocking stuffers. Here's what the BP Shop ones do:
Truly Random Pudding - small chance of getting assorted holiday items, like HBC, Candy Cane custom makers, etc.
Christmas Cracker - Gives BP and a candy cane custom maker
Candy Shaped Present - contains Flaming Pudding and small chance of Tiny Giftbox
Holiday Cracker - yields snowflakes or candycanes
The Elaborate Present will yield you both a random GP Shop and a random BP Shop item!
New holiday bonus credit levels are in effect until December 31st.
Purchases of $25 or more between now and December 31st are also awarded with a free Delicious Eggnog item.
Platinum Breeding Coins have returned to the shops, but are different this year to meet demand for higher artist pay. The PBC stocks in the USD Shop for $65 and the PBC Talisman for $180.
These USD shop purchases are accompanied by an add-on called the Platinum Dollar. The Platinum Dollar raises the artist pay for the PBC to $35 for one offspring or $45 for two offspring. The Platinum Dollar is an independent item so you could sell it and/or attach it to existing PBC breedings if desired.
The PBC also stocks in the GP Shop for 150 GP (135 GP with premium) which is the equivalent market price to the USD value according to values we've observed of the other USD items over the last months.
The goal of this action is to encourage users to purchase this coin with USD, and in turn paying the artists higher wages. In addition, when the PBC first came out at 85 GP, it was roughly the equivalent of $65 USD which means the coin is at the same price as its original release.
The Faux Box is celebrating the festivities too. Submit a Winter/Christmas-Themed Faux and earn an extra Faux Net with your accepted submission.
The Design Ticket and Metal Design Ticket features are getting a slight revamp to accommodate higher and lower paying customers. Artists will be able to select which tickets they want to work for. Look forward to the release of all the Design Tickets within the next few days!
The Breeding and Breeding add-on revamp is still underway and close to being finished. It is being overseen closely by Kyu and Mauri to ensure streamlining of breeding features and to simplify breeding. Ideally this will result in less confusion about the breeding features of Aywas.
The Customs Queue changes were initially completed about two weeks ago and are in heavy testing. Reports have been sent back to the programmer with bug fix requests and change/improvement requests by Eve. We're currently working out bugs and defining ways to improve the helper queue.
That's about it! See you around again for the release of the Design Ticket hoard!

T4T: Jingle My Bells!
Items
Oh yes, folks, 'tis the season and nothing says it more than my custom item queue getting frosty and festive! It reminds those of us in the Northern Hemisphere of what's to come, and gives something for everyone in the Southern Hemisphere to look at and "think cold" in the hot weather.
All my rambling aside, we have two lovely HA backgrounds for you to collect from Trash For Treasure.
Snowmen and snowball fights are promised with this background! It will be with us until January 1st.
And it seems if you follow the footprints from the above background it'll lead you to this lovely Christmas tree, if you're so inclined! You will be able to pick up your very own evergreen until December 26th.
Speaking of trees, don't forget to read the news post below about our Holiday Tree!
Edit:
A latecomer to today's parade - I think they need to polish their nose so they don't lose their way again! If you want a red nose of your own, you have until January 1st to pick one up!

Holiday Tree and Wishlists
Site Update

Who's excited for Aymas? This tree certainly is!

The Holiday Tree has returned and is ready to watch over as many presents as you can tuck under it until December 25th!
(You can also find this link up under Community.)
If this is your first Aymas and this gloriously decorated tree is new to you, here's the basics! On the main tree page, at a quick glance you can see how many gifts have been sent in total by all players site-wide, as well as how many you have waiting for you. Your button options are:

Give Present - I expect you'll be hitting this one a lot, so be gentle! You don't want to wear it out. ;) Clicking this button will take you to a screen where you can choose to gift either an item or a pet. From there, you can choose a specific player or a random one, decide if you want to be anonymous or not, select your gift, and enter a message, etc. There's also a handy dandy confirmation screen built in!

Holiday Tree Tip: When gifting an item, BP or GP, make sure you always select an item and specify a quantity of 1 or greater. You wouldn't wrap up money in a box and give it to someone, would you?! If you DO try to send someone an item without specifying a quantity, you will get an error before you make it to the confirmation screen, but it will also clear anything you've put in the fields, so take your time when filling the gift form out.
Note: Using HTML (images, links) should be safe, but if you are sending a link or an image, my advise is to also include the plaintext/raw URL at the end of the message just in case.

Most Needy Stockings - This is a list of users that have the least amount of goodies waiting for them. Help bump them up off of that list!
My Gifts - Clicking this will take you to a page that displays the wrapped gifts waiting for you to open. You will only be able to open them anytime on or after December 25th!
Gifting History - This tab will enable you to review all of the presents you've sent out, which should make crossing people off of your list much easier. Now you won't have to wonder if you already left a friend a gift under the tree. :3

The Wishlist
Create your own wishlist, search for a friend's, or even look through Random Wishes to find a stranger to surprise this month! :3
Wishlist & Gifting Tips
- You can make changes to your wishlist at any time, so don't be shy!
- Include several tier ranges, such as low, mid, and high. If the only thing on your wishlist is a Breeding Pendant, your friends will have a hard time picking out a present for you!
- Similarly, be sure to include a variety of wishes. Do you collect a particular site item? Do you have a favorite custom that you'd like art of? What are your favorite site features--that is, would you use cooking items more, or wearables?
- On the gifting side, get creative! "Coupons" for coding, breeding slots, and sweet messages with punny gifts are all great options. :3
- Pace yourself! Santa might get all his gifting done in one night, but he also has an army of elves working 'round the clock all year.

Remember, you can send gifts all month, but they will not be openable until December 25th. No peeking!
If you have any problems with or suggestions for the tree, please let us know! :3
Happy gifting!
