Update -- 3/24 Situation

Site Update

So, it looks like I can't go have dinner with a friend without shenanigans going on. :p

Aside from what you already know, with the combined efforts of the Aywas programmer and the Felisfire programmer (and lots of Eri too!), we've tracked down some very specific data regarding the individual who got into my account.

That information was forwarded to the host who owns the server it originated from - and they will be getting back to us soon regarding what information we can send to the authorities.

I'll keep you updated, if you're curious how this situation plans out. If I can get the right information, I will press charges on behalf of the site for hacking and myself and all of you, who experienced stress from this.

Our move to a new server tomorrow will be commencing as well.

Plus, it had to be someone at least somewhat familiar with the site, since they suggested Felisfire.

So happy to hear that it was a hack and not for real. I didn't want to see this site go down. I <3 it and my new wifey on it :> Thanks slash for handling things ^-^

@Toki - Aywas community is considered "furfaggotry" now. They love posting about anything popular, porn-ish or not, sadly. It's funny to read snippets of things -- sometimes what they post is true -- just a harsh way of saying it. However, they were uploaded really quick -- within about twenty + minutes of the hacking it was up about 'aywas closing'. It's an easy way to follow the hacking there, as well, actually, once the page is finished being edited by all the folks who hate this place. xD (Or love it and just hate certain people, etc etc).

< 3 Thanks for the update Slash, glad things are settled down, and really glad it was handled so quickly! I hope things continue to go smoothly while you are gathering your info on the hacker.
Sorry about your dinner. :(

I love /b/, don't get me wrong, but lately they've been more interested in the big stuff like Youtube (remember the great porn upload last year?). Not to say that they couldn't be mobilized against a site like Aywas, but... I just don't think it'd be high on their priority list. Maybe if Habbo Hotel closed down? lol ED, however... is a fun place for many people... so it very well could have been upset users posting there to vent some RAEG.

@Toki - That too. I haven't been on /b/ -- I was scarred for life once on some things they had there and I'm afraid I won't be going back. However, ED poses to have a few laughs once in a while if I'm not, you know, wondering what the hell is actually going on. There's no telling what's going on, but the users would have to be familiar with editing Wiki-based pages + coding (Which I might add is NOT easy, god took me forever to figure that crap out when I worked for an RO server), and you're right, but knowing that Slash owns more than one website / works with more than one website is common knowledge. I doubt you wouldn't know just by browsing through VPL you would be able to find what Slash has dabbled in. However, another pet-site? Really? I can only wonder who it was -- It'd be awesome if we could find out who. I'm sure ED'll have the info soon enough.
