Melo Redraw?

Pets

Sketch!

The Melo is the only remaining pet from the old art. The art itself is three years old, and has many proportion flaws.

An update would consist of:
- all new colorations occurring on the new melo base
- old lineart can be submitted for two months past the revamp completion without requiring Dawn Crystal
- existing customs have a 6-month period to convert to the new base for free
- old and new can breed together fine with LBC, where old x old = old, but old x new = new, as with all other revamps we've done

A revamp would take 1-3 months for us to complete as it is. Above is the sketch we have for our redraw melo. It is trying to be as close to the original melo proportion-wise as possible, while trying to fix some of the glaring errors on the original.

After that comes the lineart, then we start recoloring all the old colorations onto the new lineart. (: There are two ways we can go forward from here.

What should we do about the melo?
Yeah, let's revamp it
No change at all, keep the old one

So, yeah. What do you want?

BTW, you can redline the sketch if you want.

Here's something a bunch of people on the forums did

Not digging the multi-redline... It introduces even more errors and skins it of the things that make it recognizable as Kuitsuku art, which would make it look extremely out of place among the other pets which is exactly why we were revamping the melo in the first place!

{K}e.z.z.e's redline.

Oops I meant: I kinda like {K}e.z.z.e's redline, though.

I love the forums mash-up, there! I hope this is the one that goes through. - Pin

I like the multi-redline, and I really like Kezze's redline which fixes most of the facial problems to me. I think, either way though, I'd have to see it redrawn in Kuitsuku style before deciding if I liked it better. XD

Go for it with the red lines. Thats a much better new line art for the old one. I have a question about converting customs to new. A custom has a new redone image in old line art but hasn't been updated with a crystal. When sending it to new art will the current image of the custom will be carried over or do I need to update it so the look of it I want its passed on the new art?

I prefer the one that's been redlined. :3

The redline posted looks a BILLION times better. If we go with that one, I really hope the site artist inks it line for line with little to no editing, because honestly I WANT THAT NEW MELO NOW, and if its changed too much in the inking process I probably won't.

I grudgingly admit to loving the redline version. I'd still like to see the old melo a subspecies though. ..

...all that work for redrawing a current custom :c I want a new one but fail at art and am lacking the funds to get someone to do me another...guess i'll keep the old lineart for my customs
