... Lunar Meteor!

Site Update

store-npc-9.pngtech_icon.png
"Did anyone see the solar eclipse yesterday? There is this perfect little viewing spot up in the Arctic, and I invited Tech along with me to see it since Rudi was busy. We snacked on Gummy Lunaris while we waited, and Tech was almost eaten by a school of Orca Ryba--"

Tech taps on Miksa's shoulder, shaking their head slightly as if to tell her to move on to something more important.

"Oh! Right! The main reason I'm here is to tell everyone what we discovered today!"

"The Lunar Meteor has arrived! I wonder if the solar eclipse had anything to do with its sudden appearance... Anyway, I found quite a few new pets in the area! Please take caution while exploring - you wouldn't want to get sucked into a black hole."

Tech holds up a small pouch, giggling and bouncing up and down on their heels.

"Oh, thank you! I almost forgot. I brought some of the materials I found to Querel, and he was able to create this Pouch of Stardust! Using it on your pet seems to change it into a new hybrid pet! I've logged which ones you can obtain via this item in the Aywapedia. If you'd like to make your own, feel free to give him a visit at his alchemy studio!"

"Claude was experimenting with the stardust himself as an ingredient for his cooking, and it seems he has created a new Cirrus! If you'd like to check it out, Culinary Cache is open 24/7!"

"According to Tech's calculations, the Lunar Meteor will be with us until August 31st at 11:59 PM AST. Get out there and catch'em all!"

I would like to thank everyone who submitted colorations for the Space Coloration Contest! In first place, with the highest number of accepted submissions is Cosmos (#25837) with a whopping total of 30, earning them a Bottled Celestial Stream! Coming in second is Shizuku (#27621) with 10, and Calix (#14735) close behind in third with 9! They have both earned a Bottled Starlight! As an extra little thank you for everyone's hard work, everyone who had a submission accepted will receive a Pouch of Stardust.

Also, congratulations to Cosmos (#25837) for winning both a Pouch of Stardust and Arcade Carpet Cirrus in the contest's raffle!

Now, as Miksa said, get out there and have some fun!

Will there be a way to buy a pouch of stardust or is it only through alchemy? I don't normally do alchemy so have no ingredients... and they cost a lot more bp than I have ... but there are so many pets linked to the pouch... it just seems a little overwhelming given the cost.

Don't forget to tell new users about the museum collection (assuming there's a point to getting the star ticket, this year)

I love all of the pets! Nice job everyone!

Can the pouch of stardust be put in the trash for treasure shop also?

There's so many beautiful pets but not everyone will have the time to make alchemy components or be a high enough alchemy level to convert components to get to r50 or r70 which is part of the recipe.

i agree that it would be nice to have the pouch available somewhere else other than alchemy. i never bothered with it before and was not interested in.

♑ Voluspa ♑ (#67552) Not forgotten, it'll be in todays news post with some other goodies.
Tae (#66637) Sandy (#50007) and Lady Serria (#5666) The pouch of stardust will only be available in alchemy and will only be able to be made for a certain amount of time. Many, many, many users have been using alchemy to stock up on components, so this encourages trading and buying for those who haven't. However I strongly suggest that since this is a cheap site feature you may want to play around with it, especially with the two major holidays coming up.

🎁❄Kaiyo❄⛄ (#489) How is this a Cheap site feature? It takes either a lot of time dedicated to adventuring and collecting items in multiple zones or a ton of BP to stocking up on enough items to make the various rarity components... I mean it would be cheap and easy if you could use 10 of the same item to make a component... but you are limited to 1 per you either have to shell out lots of BP to buy items from other people or adventure in multiple areas. And where there is an event going on the people who have been doing alchemy all along have a leg up and will raise the prices they are selling things for, if they even sell them at all. I mean there are only 11 lvl 100 components in the user shops... having them be part of the event items makes people less likely to trade or sell them because they will need them to make the event items for themselves. If alchemy was easier to do / cheaper to make the indigents maybe more people would have things saved up, rather than getting surprised when an event pops up and having all these expensive things they will never be able to afford... and it's not just like there's 3 or 4 pets there are 22 hybrids from the item! I mean if you were just buying the ingredients there are not enough in the user shops to try to get 1 of each, let alone counting duplicates. You guys clearly did not think this out right before you put it in the event if it's such a huge difference between what uesers are actually doing on the site and what your event rewards require.

Looking at the user shops... it costs less to buy a completed Pouch of Stardust from people than it does to buy components to make one. There is a huge problem with the system if the end product is valued less than the items and time that goes into requiring them to make it in the first place. I mean I remember there were the dyes at Easter... great idea but too high a level of alchemy was needed to actually make the dye and the cost of the ingredients (again) was more than people value the actual breeding item for. Maybe alchemy needs to be looked at to see how viable it really is if you guys are planning to use it a lot for site events.
