New Game
Hey guys! We're aware that Manju hasn't exactly been very talkative since the introduction of their new game. We've made some adjustments, and they should now be over their temporary bout of shyness. Because of the glitch, some users may find their game settings didn't reset at exactly midnight this morning. To counteract this, everyone's streak has been rolled back, so don't worry, it hasn't been lost! You must be sure to visit Manju before tonight's roll over, however, to ensure the streak continues. Once midnight AST comes tonight, the game should be back to working as intended.
Okay, quick update! [3:33pm]
Yasu figured what went wonky. You can play today if you haven't yet, and you can click again if you have. Even if you miss today you should be okay as tomorrow the scores will remain intact. Please be advised that from 00:00:01 Tuesday 20th June, the coding that will reset a missed day will come back into effect so you MUST click on Tuesday to keep your streak.
Fingers crossed this is the last hiccup - we'll have to tell Manju to not eat the cakes so fast to stop it happening again ;)

Honestly I kind of prefer the idea of a second higher risk/higher reward game and making the Musings more forgiving again. I've got a pretty high streak, over 100k, and it -isn't- because it was forgiving. It's because I logged in every day, and I admit I'd be kind of salty if I lost it because I was sick, or my kid was sick, or I was out of town and had crappy connection... or any one of a thousand reasons someone might be having a terrible day and then log on to "lol, here's 50 bp instead of the 100k you got the other day". ;)
It's not going to be some big tantrum if it stays as is, etc, though I admit I probably would stop even trying to be around daily at that point because that's a hill I don't want to climb again. Just.. my .02 cents on what I'm reading here and the idea offered. I think a compromise in this situation sends a stronger message about the intended direction of the site than the alternative.
*Caveat: Totally not pretending there isn't a cost in time and resources to adding another game. Just offering my thoughts on the intangible goodwill benefit of retaining one forgiving option to let people keep their streaks, and approaching the plan for a new twist to the game by.. making a new game with a twist. ;)

Eve (#2775) - Just wanted to pipe up that I'm ok with going with the original intent of Manju's Musings. I don't mind. Different is different and that's fun.
For those that are going "omg, my streak didn't reset" or whatever - I'm let you know that my streak is inching close to 100k a day AND I'm ok with losing THAT particular income (awesome as it is) because I think Manju shouldn't be exactly like Xero.
