Good evening everyone! I am going to preface this with that I have been uploading Teos, Oets, Snoodles, and Faux to the May Day Pot for about the past 12 hours, so my brain is pudding, but I am going to try to be as clear as I can!
This is your pre-May Day notice! The sale begins Thursday, May 25th at 11:00 PM AST! The way this works for those of you who are new or just don't remember, we use a special sort of USD Credit that only gets added to your account if you buy it within the sale time! Any USD purchases of Items or GP outside of that time will go to the "Normal" credit, which will not be able to be used until the last day. So make sure that you do all purchases after 11:00 PM Aywas time.
That being said, you will have one hour to do your buying before the real crazy time starts! At midnight, one hour after the sale begins, the Glowing Teo Egg will usable! Collect it beforehand with the Collect Bonus tiers!
You then use your Glowing Teo Egg in the May Day Pot to grab one of the custom Exotic species! It is first come first serve, so make sure you do some window shopping and get your chosen lined up, and make sure that your lair has enough free space.
As a personal note, it has been an absolute pleasure working with all of you and watching each of you grow with each set, but then on that same note it is killing me on the inside, because wow, there are some amazing sets, and I just want them all!
And now onto the timetable for this weekend!

As I am currently broke I'm probably not going to be able to get one... I do have a bunch of regular bonus credit... so I guess there is a shot when the after sale, things go for normal credit sale happens... I've been lucky and been able to grab pets from that twice... but yeah... with my new job idk if I'll be able to be awake when that happens so might still miss out since it's like 1 am my time when that rolls around.

So, it takes 200$ to even get one of the glowing teo eggs? Really not worth it for a picture of a pretty pet. How can people spend that much, plus more? I don't get it.

I'd just like to clarify before I spend recklessly tomorrow morning: You get USD special credit (within the time frame) for spending in the USD shop AND for buying GP, right? Basically any site purchase that costs USD?

I really don't want to spend everything I have, but Forever Premium has been on my wishlist ever since I joined. I'm gonna cross my fingers really hard for Teos left over on the regular credit days, because I waaaaant one. Just one.

Hooray for Mayday!
And as for the comment earlier... that "old-fashioned" mentality was fine in an Era where "old-fashioned" work actually paid rent, grocery bills, utilities and for a vehicle. I'm very fortunate to have a high-paying union job and be able to qualify for my CDL recertification every 2 years, but alot of people are not.
Having said that, it's currently suspended due to some serious genetic health problems. I'm only 26, but they can't reinstate it until my bloodwork comes back in normal range and I'm out of regular sick days. The union backup sick pay is $250/wk...
Mayday helped a little with that.
I'm not Picasso. But sets were not only lucrative, they were great strides in me feeling more confident in my art skills. I tried a bunch of new stuff and had a blast.
Of course it's a cash grab, the site needs to function. I personally wouldn't mind a few sidebar ads, but Mayday isn't kicking kittens or punching puppies... Aywas only does it twice a year and it's only a few days of frenzy.
They could choose to shove usd auctions down our throats every minute of every day, but they don't.

I don't even know that I'll mark the ones I like, as even if there is something left by Tues a.m, it probably won't be the ones I like, as if ~I~ like them, probably a lot of other players with deeper pockets do, as well.
Plus, I'm down to my last unemployment check with no job on the horizon, so I really can't afford ANYthing outside of the "regular" credit I've built up.
Good luck, though, to those who are fortunate enough to have a cashflow like that or the artistic skills to be able to get the cash.

I'm an artist during my free time, not as good as many here on this site but pretty decent when it comes to colouring stuff and I can tell you, it is hard, time consuming work and I'm glad that people get the opportunity to be rewarded for their skill and dedication this way.
No one forces you to participate in this event and if you don't want to spend real money, there are always opportunities later to still get a pet on the lines you want, e.g. via paying GP for breedings with Gen1 of these lines or with breeding trades you can make with the players. A lot of us love doing breeding trades as this doesn't involve spending any money (real or site currency).
