Pets
It is with a heavy heart that Aywas brings you the opportunity to participate in the cash auctions of hundreds of custom pets. The reason for this is that the previous owner of the pets has caused us to fall nearly $5000 in debt due to chargebacks. I have a rant thread that goes into some detail regarding the situation.
We have to seek out a way to make ourselves whole for the damage done to us--both in terms of money lost and potential damage to the good standing of our payments account. As you can understand, if the chargebacks (which now number over a hundred in the past two months from this one individual) cause us to lose our payment accounts, that would be devastating. A high number of chargebacks can cause payment processors to cancel accounts with a company due to high risk.
Our PayPal account is not currently affected by this problem, but I have no idea if the volume of chargebacks on Amazon Payments could affect it in the future.
The USD Auctions page reflects all of the custom pets that we have decided to reclaim from the player who filed the chargebacks. You can pledge a bid on the pet by entering an amount and an invoice e-mail address.
Please note:
1. Bids made through USD auctions cannot be canceled.
2. Please place a bid only if you are committed to buying the pet if you win it.
3. Pets come "as is" as we have no idea what rules may have been placed on them. We will help mediate any issues between the new owner and any previous owners.
4. We would prefer accepting payment on our Amazon Payments account to prevent the delinquent account (it's in the negative) from being sent to collections and/or legal action taken against us for not having the disputed funds. If it cannot be paid through this, we will accept PayPal.
5. All auctions end in approximately seven days. End dates are listed on the auctions themselves.
6. When the auctions are over, your total bill (all your auctions won) will be invoiced to you. Upon successful payment, all pets won will be placed into your lair.
Some highlights below:
It is not a usual thing for Aywas to take repossession of pets on a banned account. This situation is unique, grave, and we hope will not have to be repeated in the future. Ultimately, we appreciate any support, because this is one of the worst situations we have found ourselves in.
As a final note, any comments making threats toward the individual who filed the chargeback will be removed without notice. This happened on tumblr before and it will not be permitted here. Believe me, I am just as angry as you are, but threats will only make things worse, and they cannot be tolerated.

This is actually genius. Even if each pet only sells for $25, which I doubt, you still make double what the bank took.
You should do this for every perma-banned account. It's raining money as it is!

Strongly suggest the hard and fast rule is that if there was a payment of GP or trade of goods, that if the person has proof (PM, forum posts) where Shadow recievied payment in advance, that the breedings be honored.
ALL and I do mean ALL other breeding reserves, especially this "free" bull is not in any way okay to inflict on the new owners. 80% of the species there say "free" or "1gp!" and I just... NOPE. Most of the teos, in fact almost all of them, say free- and forcing someone who is paying >30$ USD for the pet to never recover even part of the investment is- boggling.

J.A.K. (#15) I use Amazon Payments to get GP AND have a PayPal account. Both have different email addresses. Would you'd like me to put the one for amazon payments instead of PayPal in the email box if I bidded on the above pets? I'm confused on how you want that done because you need the payment through Amazon more to get out of the red. Just want to make sure! I hope this gets resolved quickly and sorry this happened to you, Slash! :( - Lunch

Just a quick question. I have no clue what is in this persons lair but. (The USD Auctions page reflects all of the custom pets that we have decided to reclaim from the player who filed the chargebacks.) --- Why did you decide just these pets? If this person has done this much damage... Why not take all of the customs to sell?

"You should do this for every perma-banned account. It's raining money as it is!"
I really disagree with this statement. I feel it's VERY justified to sell off this user's customs in this situation, as they were essentially using money/resources they stole from the site to gain those customs, so the custom's don't really "belong" to them, in a sense. But for some other cases...isn't the permaban punishment enough?
Anyway, not making this into a debate. I totally support Slash's decision in this case, and am appalled that a user would do this. Will be buying some gp (or please consider just putting up a donate option!) to try and help a bit.
Good luck, Slash! <3

I agree that this should NOT be common practice and it obviously took a great deal of debate and stress for Slash to come to this decision. The Admins and Owner cannot be expected to be high handed with people's belongings, even online, digital only belongings. That's a slippery slope that can lead to 'this person is annoying us in general why don't we just ban them and make some money?'. I'm not saying this would happen? Just that the statement that this is an EXTREME EXCEPTION is a good one and I'm glad it exists.
That said I've dragged what friends I can who have paydays before me, I hope we can help!

I'm sorry I hope it works out. I don't get paid till next week or I'd bid. Let me know if I can help?
