Please Be Careful

Site Update

We have been encountering a rising number of scams associated with trading with other game sites ("cross site trading"). To ensure your protection, please be careful when trading with other sites.

- If you are SENDING Aywas Stuff to another Aywas account for something offsite, you are fully protected by Aywas Staff. In the event the other party does not send your goods offsite, you can come to us and we will reverse the transaction so you get your Aywas stuff back.

- If you are SENDING Other Site Stuff offsite in exchange for Aywas Stuff, you are not protected by Aywas Staff. The player you sent the stuff to on the other site may not have the goods to give you on Aywas. In addition, there have been incidents of purchasing GP and then chargebacking it after spending it on other site goods - and that results in the "illegitimate GP" being removed from the site (and your account, if you traded with them).

If you play any games where the staff does not recover your items from scams, please be EXTRA CAREFUL with your trades. Trade only with players you know very well and that you are certain will not scam you.

For one second, I was afraid trading to another site was about to be removed. I'm so glad this is just a clarifying post <3

I usually don't like the phrase "get a life" but people who feel the need to scam on virtual pet sites? Any scams are terrible and I know on these sites can be actual money involved, but... really? Some people have nothing better to do, really.

That's nothing, when i played neopets, i told people that it was a great education on all the different scam techniques in use at the time. Give up some game money, and all the scams get revealed for how they work and trick people. Much safer education than your college fund.

Well, I am now very disappointed. First time being scammed and am extremely frustrated. I do not do art and am unable to afford to spend real life money. Am now -75 GP because of this. This is a large amount of money to me which I am now unable to pay back. Offsite trades were basically my only real source of income here. HATE scammers. Am now unable to do anything I was trying to save for. Site is basically useless to me atm. Guess it's time for a break. Back to CS for me! Goodbye for now Aywas.
Will hopefully be back sometime if I can figure a way out of the negative.
May come back if I am able to find a safe way to get the money back.

I noticed a rising of users in the Tags doing offsite trades too with sites off of the "fly list". It might be noteable to mention that any trades off of the safe list are a negative and generally not safe.

I haven't been able to find anywhere, so I guess this might be a place to ask; is there a policy regarding people trying to get you to make a site on another account? I got a message from someone (#231) telling me to make an account elsewhere and to the best of my knowledge I've never even spoken to #231.

Jazzalicious (#1178) What is the "fly list", and where is the "safe list"?

If there is a problem with offsite trading and we go to staff on the other site would we be able to ask Aywas staff for information to help? Like something from staff saying that yes this currency was charged back or something like that?
