Tigerbird Finx
Many of you have heard talk of the other side of Ay. One of the pets that walks those unknown lands is the Finx. We might not be ready to release the other side of Ay yet, but we're going to be releasing the PSDs to these pets one by one to accept colorations for when the other side of the world goes live.
The Finx is a species whose colors should blend the designs of a mammal and a bird. That one up there isn't a good example because that was just Xero experimenting on melos and reves (it is purdy though), but good examples would be:
- Leopard Hawk
- Tiger Osprey
- Panda Eagle
And so forth.
The Tigerbird is indeed the first of the Finx species and will be the only Finx coloration released before the other side of Ay becomes accessible. You can thank Xero for that. Due to the rarity of these creatures, he'll be handing out ten of them of random genders. If you would like to take your chances getting one, post your favorite thing about the Finx species. Winners will be randomly selected from the entries (no double entries, one news comment per person, please).

My favorite thing is that they are, quite simply, a winged cat.
Does it spark fantasies about soaring through the skies astride a mount that can maul you to death? You betcha.
Also, while they might not be big enough to ride... It's my fantasy. And I will ride one if I wanna. ;D

TIGER plus BIRD equals massive braindeath. Kittybirds? Really? Don't kitties EAT birds? I should know; I've found enough half-mangled bird bodies on my front steps beside my grinning kitty cats to know. The Finx's entire existence is a great paradox. It's MINDBOGGLING. How many of these poor creatures are afraid of themselves? I certainly hope it doesn't try to eat itself. That could end up both awkward and confusing. And probably pretty painful.
So, what do I love about them? ...honestly, I'm still just kind of stunned that two widely different species can inhabit one body. Without eating itself. (Though, perhaps it does take a little nibble every now and then. Y'know. Just to make sure the bird part is still legit.)

I think this will be amazing for all the lovers of cats whose past cats died and they want a memorial to them. Right now you have to get an expensive line art edit melo to get one. But if/when customs open for the finx they could use metal custom crystals and have their kitty memorialized.
