Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!

Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?

The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.

Ooh, but wait! There's more!

Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).

Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!

Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!

Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!

Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!

Just smell those new pages!

Oh gosh... I have soooo many favorite books. Ummm lets see. The Belgariad, The Malloreon, and The Elenium by David Eddings. The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon (also Planet Pirates Series by Anne McCaffrey, Elizabeth Moon and Jody Lynn Nye is pretty good). Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, and Lovelock by Orson Scott Card. And the Odd Thomas Series by Dean Koontz. Other good Koontz books I've read were The Husband, and By the Light of the Moon, Twilight Eyes, and One Door Away From Heaven. (Pretty much anything Koontz wrights is epic XD I have a pile I haven't finished working through yet @.@).
OK I think I need to stop now XD -- M

My favorite book is The Last Battle, or mostly just the entire series of the Chronicles of Narnia. I like it because it doesn't focus around love, or anything too dark. I remember getting it when I was really young, but it still stays as an all-time favorite. I just really love a fantasy book that brings you to a different world . . . without almost completely resembling another book. :P Narnia just feels unique. If the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit weren't so long and detailed, I might have set that as my favorites. But Narnia is nice in a way, that it doesn't make you spend hours just reading about the scenery, but enough to picture it in your head. ^^ And since the stories are all seperate, each one is just a quick read if time is not with someone.
I like The Last Battle the most out of the series though, because the first book was a bit on the boring side. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader were my other more preferred parts of the series, but they just seem partly like side-stories. And the rest of the books are more filler-ish- it's not that they're bad, but they just don't stand out too much. And the ending of The Last Battle . . . I don't know if anyone else feels it, but the ending fills me with happiness. ;w; The way it's written, I wish I was there too . . . And it leaves you thinking for a while, wishing there were some other book with another adventure to read. The end of a story is the beginning of a new one . . .
The Last Battle certainly isn't a forgettable book in the wide sea of stories, but it still works its magic for me even after reading it a countless number of times. ^^

you should read the book series called Eragon! it's an amazing series... and if you've ever seen the movie and liked it you will hate it after the actual books! its a tail of a farm boy who was nothing special and happened across a dragon egg in a mysterious way, at first he doesn't know what it is. but once she hatches Saphara -may have spelt that wrong- becomes his best friend, and together they become great and work towards saving the kingdom from an evil dragon rider who has ruled the lands far longer then a human should ever be alive. you learn more and my description doesn't do this amazing book's justice (and i had to do my best not to give a lot of it away! theres so much more in there you just need to read!)

also theres a book called Crimson Shards
this book is about a fire breather and a boy whose blood is acid. they live in a past life and through a way unknown to them get jolted into a world much like ours today. the firebreather didn't tell the boy but he's known of this place in his past. the tails and adventures these guys go on for there own life is simply amazing to read!

My favorite book is Dracula right now, but... Well, lets not go there. XD Its probably temporary.

I LOVE the Mercy Thompson series. Shapeshifting coyotes and werewolves, and the romance in it is pretty limited and good from what I remember. After all, cheesy romance in a really good book kind of ruins it. Oh, plus also vampires. Which the author, Patricia Briggs, depicted amazingly.
That's just my two cents though. >3>

My favourite book would probably be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J. K. Rowling. I have fond memories of the first four books from the Harry Potter series, when I was reading them in elementary school; I fell in love with the world painted by the author, the characters, and the humour. Goblet of Fire in particular is near and dear to me; at the time, it was the longest book I had ever read. I still remember staying up well past my bedtime to finish the book, as the raising stakes and building suspense sucked me in and kept me hooked like no other book had before or since (though the previous three books in the series came close!).

My favorite book is probably either the Warriors Cats saga, or Eragon

I love the quite original concept and story for both of them, and how descriptive they are. I also love the action and the fights as well as the character design.
Although i think I might go with Eragon as my favorite because of how much more in-depth the character development is, where most of the characters in warriors, how ever much i love those kitties, are a little flat, and one dimensional.

Mine is Swan Song by Robert McCammon. It follows a group of survivors after a nuclear war and their quest to reestablish humanity in a bleak environment while avoiding the bad guys. There are a few supernatural type elements as well. Its a super story about the human spirit.

I think one of my favorite books was and is, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. It's a sad book, but it's absolutely fabulous. It's a pretty short book, only 80 pages, but it's still amazing. And another of my favorites is...Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen. I absolutely LOVE Sarah Dessen books. And this book...I really don't know what it is about it, but I love it. <3

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind... super long but super awesome! Each book is readable on it's own as well. They are my favorite because it is extremely well written. Goodkind does well developing his characters and telling the story. The whole series is full of twists and turns. A science fiction book that is probably the best I have ever read.

My current favorite is the Sun Sword series by Michelle West. Incredibly rich detail in her world-building, and lots of strong female characters.
