Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

One of my favorites is The Great Gatsby, mainly because I'm a fan of the 1920's. :)

This will be a long post, sorry! My favorite book (series) is the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. The following is a Facebook note I published after finishing the series, which I think sums up nicely why I find it so amazing.
"He came like the wind, like the wind touched everything, and like the wind was gone."
My sincerest gratitude to the late Robert Jordan, who spun such fantastic tales and built the world in which I've chosen to spend my free moments for the past 12 years of my life. May you shelter in the palm of the Creator, and may the last embrace of the Mother welcome you home.
My love and deepest sympathies for Harriet, his wife, without whom these stories would never have made it to those of us they touched so deeply. May you always find water and shade, and take comfort in knowing that someday you too will wake, and find your heart's light at dream's end.
And finally, my heartfelt thanks to Brandon Sanderson, who took up that mountain and saw us through to the finish when the Creator himself awoke from the dream. Peace favor your sword, Tai'shar all.
From the moment I turned the first page of Eye of the World and let my greedy mind begin this epic journey, I have loved every word. I have known and followed these characters through all of their struggles, as they have help me throughout mine. Over the course of fourteen books (and a prequel) I have wept at the loss of many a dear friend, cried out with joy as the sun broke through the clouds atop the fiery mountain, felt the bone deep terror of a Fade's gaze, and more. I have cracked spines, torn pages, bent and broken books through overuse. And still, when a new copy must be purchased to continue coherently, the old is never thrown out, but lovingly retired.
It is with a strange mix of heavy heart and lightness of spirit that I complete this amazing series. Although, as any fan will tell his most likely captive audience, "The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again." This fantasy is one I'm sure I will relive many times as the Wheel continues to turn. For remember, there is no beginning or end to the Wheel of Time, but this is AN ending.
And blood and bloody ashes, but it was a flaming good one!

The Host by stephenie meyer. I love this book , it's so amazing. Two souls in one body , two different personalitys and two different loves. It has a very different theme from other books and no vampires! The writer's imagination is amazing , it's like a kind of Utopia but same time ,it's not. It shows all feelings of human from another creatures eyes which loves peace. Who is really monster? A species that only can live in another creatures body or humans who plan to do anything to take their world back.It tells A human and creature's friendship in same body and a creature who tries to help people who hates her.

My favourite book is Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palaniuk. It just really makes me think about life from another perspective. Not to mention it's somewhat humorous.

My favorite book is The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien! :) I love this book (just as much as I love the Lord of the Rings series) because of the creativity and imagination in these books. When you read that book you can't even imagine creating such a dynamic, intricate world full of exciting twists, incredibly developed characters full of depth, and one of the first great fiction authors first great creation. The book makes you cry, laugh, hope, and love. You become so attached to the characters that when one dies you literally mourn before reading on, and when one triumphs you cheer inside! Being able to create a book that you just can't put down, and that leaves you with these connections and amazingly unforgettable characters that keep bring you back to read it once again, then you know that you have found a truly amazing book written by an awe-inspiring human being! <3
