Vyne Redraw

Pets

Hey, what's up?

I'm excited to announce that our original pet artist redrew our Vyne!! Now it matches the other pets ... wooooo! :)

Obviously, this is going to require some recolors. We have set up a thread where you can submit recolors of the vynes on the new lineart. If your recolor is high quality and accepted by BJ, you'll not only receive a copy of the vyne but 2 GP to go along with it.

Also, the vyne at the top is the Gold Tipped Lotus Vyne. Ten of these will be released on the site - post your favorite thing about the new vyne to try for one of these Gold Tipped Lotuses!

That Vyne is an EPIC WIN!
I love the flowers at the base of the tail. Actually, I love pretty much everything about them! Everything just looks more plant like, from the leaf-tail, to the petal-like mane. I like how they have less of a horse influence, because having horses as plants never really made sense to me. They're just so shiny and beautiful now!

First of all, that lineart is amazing. I'd never been a fan of Vynes before, but wow. . .that's love at first sight. The expression is stunning in its mischievous and coy nature. The raised paw is very cute, and the way they're drawn is fabulous. The mane and flowers now look so full of life, and the tail looks so precious. As far as the Gold Tipped Lotus Vyne goes, that coloring is gorgeous. It all meshes so well. And the eyes. . .they're so lovely! Their colors are so gorgeous. The artist did an amazing job. As far as my favorite thing overall about the new lineart, I have to go with the expression, and my favorite thing overall about the Gold Tipped Lotus is the mane and eyes. They're so beautifully colored. :3

Loving the new look SO much! Despite the plumage, the weight looks evenly distributed this time :) They look like the alien-plants they were intended to be! I've always wanted a new addition to my crew, but couldn't quite figure how to render the old Vyne in my style.. this, this however. this I can do. This I can dig <3

Wow! I never really liked the Vynes, but I sure do now. I like the leaf on the end of the tail.... Dunno why. XD I really like the new pose as well. It actually looks like an animal now, instead of a stiff, fake figurine of an animal. Pure win. I totally have to get some of these now.

I like how the the new version kept the essentials of the old Vyne, the claws, the flowers near the tail, the vining parts. What I find exciting is that it no longer seems flat or two dimensional. The flowers near the tail base and the leaves/feathers there seem to be closer to me, the end of the tail further away. The tip of the tail instead of being a triangle is almost a feathery leaf. Now for the mane and tendrils. I love the swooshy feel of them. They have come alive and seem to move on their own. Plus I think it is looking at me.

Honestly, I love the mischievous expression and smirk.

I don't know...something about it reminds me of a very dear friend of mine..

I guess I pictured a very similar expression on his face as he told me about how he called the president of Cedar Fairs, LTD a liar to his face (my friend works at one of the theme parks owned by Cedar Fair)... His attitude toward the situation was along the lines of "Whoops, but what the hell do I care?"

I defnitely like this vyne better-it seems to match the other aywas more with the mischevious expression and the not so horsey look =)

This new pose is very lively. It's crammed full of personality and much more dynamic. All the body parts are also much more dynamically drawn... the head-tentacle things have such a great sense of motion to them! I also love how the flowers have been clarified as flowers--I remember some people referring to them as "grapes" before. xD
