Site Update
I really have no idea why I picked this image, it's just for aesthetics
When Aywas opened up more than three years ago, I hadn't actually expected anyone to want to play it (considering the previous site I'd opened up hadn't had more than five or six people on at a time), so much of the site was pretty rushed! I knew pet sites needed characters in them, so I'd tossed in some roleplay characters with a very close friend of mine that I knew well so I could have fun playing them :)
I gave staff the green light to start adding new characters of their design to the site about a year back, but how about we open this up to everyone who'd like to contribute?
Under the suggestions forum is a new subgroup, the Character Workshop!! All you have to do to contribute a character to the site is snag a profile off the current list and fill it out, then add some reference pictures. A new character artist will be selected in about a month and all the new characters will make their debut!
Try to make your character as related to Aywas as you can, that's what makes the world more grounded! And don't forget, your contributed character can be human, anthro, or pet... it's all up to you!

Thank you SO much for opening up this sort of thing and listening to the users. I know site characters has definitely been one of those things that a lot of people have strong opinions on, myself included. So this is really nice!
Question, though: Is there a deadline to this, or is it an ongoing project where characters may be added in when accepted?

It's sort of an ongoing project... not sure how new characters will be accepted in the future. Maybe in small batches so they don't get lost among each other.
