Site Update

Sorry for the small explosion, folks, we've still been working on implementing suggestions. Here are some new ones we got through today:

- You can now select a "Bald" hairstyle for your Human Avatar in the Salon.

- Museum Collections will no longer be removed and will instead be Retired, there is a page for viewing retired museum collections and the progress you made on them, though you cannot add to them anymore.

- For 5 GP, you can now "Lock your pet" from modifications by utilizing the link on your "My Pets" page. Look for "Lock (Pet) from Modification". This will make it so when that pet is active, you will not be able to use the Rogue Zap feature or morphing potions. It also stores data on what that pet was (its species, or its custom image) so if it does get changed, it can be easily recovered.

- You can now sort the Item Database by Explore Region to look at all the items in a particular region.

What Slash and the site gets is our money. The site will still take a hit considering some people will pay 5 GP for a lock and others will metaphorically give it the finger. This leaves those folks with the chance of making an error and the site can still profit from the 'LOL user error' it has been implementing. While I don't particularly care for how this was implemented, it still is a fair trade off of sorts. Though making it available through BP for a bit would be good for the economy.

Why don't you just trade BP for GP? That's using BP to pay for it. I can see... four threads selling GP just by looking at the first page of Item Sales and Misc Sales :P

I have no problem with the pet lock costing 5 GP and am a little bothered that so many people are complaining about it. Slash took the time and effort to make this feature, that SO many people have been asking for. Now you complain that it costs GP? Really? Are you also going to complain that the monthly potions cost GP and that you need to pay GP to get a premium to have a forum signature?

I really really hope that these complaints don't get this feature removed! Really guys, its NOT that much. And don't complain that you don't have RL Cash to buy GP with. I haven't spent more than 5 dollars on this site the ENTIRE time I have been on here, and I have been able to EARN well over... Wow, well over 933 GP O.O Just did the math, and I never thought it would go that high x.x

So yeah. Point is, 5 GP is NOT that bad. If you spent, say, 50 GP on a gold pet that you don't want to get eaten, 5 GP is nothing.

True, it's just that the threads depend on users having GP to sell. If no-one has any, no-one sells any. I've had days where I couldn't find any for sale.
Maybe some kind of BP to GP trade in as a part of Aywas itself?
I dunno, just throwing ideas out there. I've never liked a site enough to get involved enough to have something to want to change/make better until now, so I'm not always sure what I'm talking about.

On another note... There does seem to be a LOT of BP floating around. It might not be a bad idea to have a BP option, but have the BP option be, like... Twice the GP value in BP exchange? So... Right now GP is roughly 250k per GP? (average). So... 2.5 mill BP for the lock? Encourages people to pay with GP instead of BP, but also provides a sink for BP if people REALLY want to pay with that instead? maybe?

Not trying to be a brat complaining about the GP price, since the GP price REALLY doesn't bother me at all, but just a suggestion ^.^

I'm willing to pay 5GP to lock my priceless BC Kyre babby up safely :-3 The others aren't expensive enough to be worth locking but something like that definitely is. I don't wanna pay....what, 150GP? To get a HCC to remake it if it gets ruined, or 70GP to get another BC and HOPE that I end up with something almost as good.
