I think if this contest is done again a change to the judging and listed winners should be done. Yes, doing 'best overall' is a good idea. But I also think that things such as 'most engaging story', 'best use of art' (such as the folks who draw specific images for stories), 'most engaging character' (doing something like this might be hard because people do have heavy biases on character preferences but I do think it would be possible if the judges went with an open mind), 'best coding', and all sorts of other things should be judged completely separate and given places 'on the winners' box' so to speak. I think that would cause people to be a lot more interested and not feel like they don't stand a chance because they can't do all coding, drawing, and writing or pay someone to do the things they can't. -Fly

I like Fly's ideas, and I would definitely support something like that being done if this contest or something like it were repeated. As for it catering to those who write/code/art, well, what ELSE can you do to express an original character, which is the point of the contest? It's about sharing your ideas about the character you created, and that does mean writing about them, if nothing else. The rest does add spice to the entry, like Slash said, but there's a reason I chose Djiva for example, out of all the OC's I have on Aywas. She's a very interesting character XD

Agreed with what Fly said. I thought this contest was catering towards showing off a profile and well thought out charcter as a whole - with info, coding, and art all more or less equally weighted. I thought I would've earned bigger points for my CSS that made Rikaku's profile seem like a multi-paged layout, while every page was actually coded into a single page. I mean come on, that's pretty slick right? Lol. But it looks like my hours of css on that were overlooked because the real criteria that went into judging this was 'interesting reading' and some nice design aspects on the side. The contest needs to be more clear cut on what we're expected to cater to... fancy coding, fancy art, in-depth character bios, interesting reading, etc. Way too vague imo.

I like the idea of another contest like this.

*points up at God* Yeah and I thought my freaking awesome layout would play into it somehow as well XDDD

The criteria were clearly laid out: "Let's have a contest. Create a fun profile for one of your pets (though you can enter as many times as you want)! Try to make it as interesting as possible - edit the profile CSS coding so it looks cooler, add some fun facts and details about the character, include some drawings, etc."

The winners excelled in all areas - the CSS, the fun facts and details, and drawings. If someone didn't win, the winners were better than them in one or more of those areas.

Please do another contest, if I had been aware of this one I would have entered.

Oh please do another one of these. I meant to enter, but didn't get my character's info done in time. Can't wait if it does happen!

yay! I was rooting for two of those characters :D congrats!

I'd definitely enter if there's a next time, I didn't have enough time this time.

Nah Slash, I'm not saying that the winners didn't deserve to win. This is what I was trying to get at: "Even despite that, the biggest thing judged was the content. These three were deemed the most interesting to read content-wise by the two judges." This, what you said earlier. It would've been more helpful to have told people ahead of time that the contest was going to be judged mostly based around how interesting your writing content was to the judges. Or the contest could've been split up like Fly mentioned, where people know ahead of time what the judges are focusing on while judging their entry. That's more of what I meant. I'd be all for seeing this contest happen again if it's formatted how Fly suggested earlier.
