Aywas is back!
So, here's the adventure.
At 12:30 AM we requested a new hard drive - as we were told that Aywas would speed up if we put our MYSQL database on a solid state secondary drive. The drive was installed by 1:00 AM, all looked good, until I turned the site back on and logged in.
Our data had been rolled back to October 2010. O__o
So, yeah, suffice to say that was unacceptable. Around 1:30 AM I requested that our hourly backups be extracted and the most recent database before the downtime be used. From 1:30 AM until now, 9:00 AM... the backups kept failing. And failing. :|
Only about ten minutes ago did a backup FINALLY WORK! And now we have Aywas back, just as it was when we left it - and hopefully faster!
Please tell me if you see a speed increase. That was the point of all this work!
As you so kindly waited along with me in our eight hours of downtime, feel free to request a free common species custom here by submitting a custom image.

When are the custom images due? I have one that is almost done... but I can't work on it until I get back home tonight. XD

It was going real well a bit ago, but there's over 400 users on now, and it's going back to "normal" speed. The games section is still loading kind of slowly, too. I don't explore, so can't say on that. The forums are being a bit better. I still can't have two tabs loading at the same time with any kind of decent speed.. which kinda sucks :( Aywas is the only site that I have this problem with, still.

I'm glad its back but it seems as slow as ever, alas. But you did try so ty. Maybe it just needs a few days to get used to everything. That can be true. /nods/ lets hope for faster soon :)

I stayed up late last night, and managed to spot the site's reset to October; I was wondering how you guys would fix it, and am so impressed to have the site back to normal within a day! Thanks guys ;w; Now to find which custom to request~ -glee!-
