Sand dollars and the finned pets will be around until midnight tonight (when the 4th starts). I tweaked some settings in Explore so you may find them easier to find now.

Also, it's the R10 Very Common Monsters from the West and East Rivers only that will drop the items, not the R100 ones - you don't need to use monster detectors or anything! ^_^

I don't know about that. I'm pretty sure I've gotten at least 1 Sand Dollar from monsters other than the Very Commons. I just fight every monster that comes my way.

If that's so, then it was probably a glitch. Only the R10 monsters on those two levels are coded to drop the Sand Dollars at all, as far as I'm aware. It's been that way since the start of the hunt...however, all of the monsters are coded to drop items or BP, so it's worth it to fight them. I received a Molten Potion that way yesterday <3

so what I'm not curious about is what will happen to all the left over sand dollars when the pets go away in a half hour?

I hope slash leaves the drop rates like this after the event... I like finding 3-4 item per hour even during lag......... Since v2 I've missed all the items we used to get.... this still isn't as many as then but it's better! My A.D.D. gets bored getting just bp from monsters for an hour straight lol

They become items for item collectors just like snowflakes and all that... or this might become a yearly thing so maybe worth saving for next year just in case

I still haven't found a single one and I have to leave for work soon. The seasonal pets will no doubt be offline by the time I get home tonight.
This is getting very frustrating, especially since I couldn't seem to get any love letters for the last event so missed out on all those as well.
I'm starting to think this site is only worth it for those who can be here 24/7 or are super lucky, which obviously I am not.

It's monsters that drop them, not pets. You can also find them occasionally in Throwing Bones, Chaos Cooking, and from merchants in the East and West River areas. Hope this helps you Jay!
