Rules Update

Rules

We have added a new section under the "Sales and Breeding Rules" section of the TOS...

"- fulfill all agreements (such as art) with another user within one month unless agreed to by the other user"

What does this mean? This protects the customer from never-completed art commissions or empty promises, ensuring that your money won't be tied up forever with slow art, auctions that go on forever, etc.

If a commission (or anything, rather) isn't completed within one month, the paying user has the right to request a refund. This is, of course, only if the paying user wants one - they might be willing to wait. If so, it is best to record those agreements via PM (EG: both users agree to a three month deadline, for example).

This also puts the max amount of time a "no end date" auction can go on to 1 month. A seller can set a longer auction if they want, but that longer end date must be on the thread at its start so all bids are made with that knowledge.

This rule becomes enforced if another user refuses the refund despite the month point having elapsed, or refuses to complete an auction that had no specified end date. In that case, contact a moderator to handle the situation.

Always remember that the most important and binding thing is to have both parties agree to particular terms of sale.

Nice rules. ^^ Am quite glad that we have them now, as I'm sure a lot of other people will be too. Also makes me even more happy I don't do payment stuff till after design work is finished and ready to go to the client, hehe.

:,D Up until about a week ago I might have been guilty of these rules. But I had refunded and finished the two incidents in question (why do I agree to things in the holidays?) so all's good.

An amazing rule, btw. I wish it was in other sites I go on. :>

It is nice to see protection for the customer's rights, so this is a fair rule to enforce. Quick question though; does this only apply from user to user or does this also cover things like SCC artist comissions and other page related artwork? I am assuming the former, but I thought I would ask just to clear it up.

Never mind, I just caught "fulfill all agreements (such as art) with another user" so ignore my question! XD

Is the one month rule still binding if the recipient of the art or item in question never actually paid anything? (As in, getting something for free.) In which case, there's nothing to refund.

I like this rule XD will make me less nervous to pre-pay for things like art <: though I am pretty much always willing to extent time if the artist needs it, knowing that it will be enforced by staff is nice. -Ire
