Instead of explore pets, I have some different pets for you to contemplate...
Back in June we ran a contest where people could submit colorations on alternate hybrid linearts. The idea for the pets was dropped but the images are still so pretty D=
And a Vion, because... pretty images never being used! D=
So I figured out a different way to release them!
How do you get them, you might ask? Well... there are a bunch of items you seem to hate...
Annoying Item Bazaar
Trade in those annoying items!
Now that there are more than just the Cheetah Quetzal released, here's how the alt hybrids will work. There will be others released in time, so...
You can breed them to anything with a Breeding Coin (same as any pet), but if you want to use a same-species coin on them, you can only breed them to an alt hybrid of their same species (so the lineart has to match). You can't make customs of them at this time.

EDIT: Tweaked the prices in the shop based on the amount that exist on the site =D

I might as well just sell the ones I have. I'm nowhere near any of those prices, because I don't like clutter in my inventory when it comes to -useless items- that are, apparently, no longer useless. It makes me wonder how many aloe gels I've destroyed because I didn't think I'd ever have a use for them.

Er... is this shop permanent? Cause I really want a solar griffin, but it will take a looooong time to get enough canteens.

It'd be better if we could trash multiple items to get the same amount of points.
Say, 6 "trash items" per week. Aloe Gel gives points this week, but next week it'll be some other useless item.
Kinda like trash dump except more selective with the items it accepts.

I don't think that the prices are unreasonable even though I don't have enough for any of them. I've sold plenty of those items though and so it's possible to get them again. Regardless, that so many are complaining about this is really bothersome. I have three kids and can't be on constantly but I'm really glad these awesome pets are being offered even if I can't afford one now. Thanks for the awesome pet.

I AM SO ANGRY! I have spent the last 2 weeks destroying or putting those items in the trash dump and NOW we can use those items to get new pets?!?!?! And here I thought I was doing the site a favor by getting rid of all those items. Now I feel like I have been screwed with a chainsaw. =(
