Oh damn, we saw one of those at work a couple weeks ago. Scared the living daylights out of us - we're not used to spiders that big around here.

You have a female Black and Yellow Argiope. They are usually the largest spiders most people ever encounter. Sometimes known as the Writing Spider because of their webs have a zig-zag design in them. Which are pretty cool.

We have a lot of those around the apartments where i live. There is one that lives on the other side of my window (i live on the second story) and i call her petals :3
