Anyway, so someone asked what a re-inked melo (as opposed to redrawn) would look like, so we produced this.
Which do you like better? I'm fairly ambivalent either way.

I don't like the idea of putting the second one's head on the first one's body because the head is the whole thing I have a problem with. I don't mind the idea of trading the ears though I hope the tail stays as-is or is sized down a bit because the new one is bigger and will mean larger edit percentages.

The second one's face is a bit tilted, but the rest of the head is straight. It bugs me. :/
Gonna stick with the first one.

I like everything except the ears on the second one. The first one still has old issues that I think at least were attempted to fix to an acceptable medium. If we can still breed oldxnew and if something comes out of the "tarnished" or something made up for crystals with old lineart, the new one (right) all the way. ~Kirema

OK first of all the re inked is the original melo and is the closest you'll get. stop complaining really saying its not like the original because it is

I prefer the redraw. The reink's shading is inconsistent, and the redraw is generally better proportion-wise...

And, I mean, I thought the point was to update the art. Sure, even the second one has some things I don't exactly like - there's part of the ear I don't care for, and the tail is just a smidge big for me - but I figure I won't be happy about all of it, and still have other people be happy with it, too.
Also, I notice that the ones voting for the second one usually back it up with specifics, while the ones voting for the first are more or less just like "this is better because omg don't change my melo!" (sorry XD). There are things I like better on the original melo, too (like where the ear connects to the head, and the old tail). But it was supposed to be updating the art, so please update the art! (I also like the second one's muzzle - but maybe that's just me.)

The second one is a lot better. Can't we combine them somehow? There are some things on the second that look sooo much better then the first. Like the ears, tail and feet.
