Holiday Breeding Coin (HBC) Changes

Site Update

magic_holidaybreedingcoin.pngmagic_holidaybreedingpendant.pngmagic_halfaholidaybreedingcoin.png

Hi all! As many of you are aware, the Holiday Breeding Queue has been stagnant for a very long time. In the hopes to get the queue moving, we are introducing some changes to how the coin works.

- Any Holiday breeding where the parent rolled has no PSD or there is no functioning PSD available will roll a random Common, Uncommon, Raw, or Token genus. Breedings submitted before March 11 2022 can produce hybrids!
- The user can select up to three species for the artist to choose from. If there are no species listed or more than 3 are listed, the breeding will default to artist's choice.
- Holiday Fertility Potions will be refunded to the user if the parent base chosen has no available PSD.

Even if your breeding has PSDs available, you can still select up to three species for the artist to choose from. This is the best way to ensure that your breeding can be returned to you as soon as possible as it will be assigned to a BC artist!

These changes will go into effect on April 11 2022. They are retroactive and will apply to all Holiday Breeding Coins and Pendants current and future.

If you are wanting your breeding to function as a normal HBC, please make sure to have your PSDs working and attached. Additionally, please be prepared for an even longer wait time as breedings with genus changes will be delegated to artists who do not work on the Holiday Queue.

If you are looking to receive babies on the same lines as a no PSD parent, you will need to purchase predicts and source your own artist. Our artists will not be recreating PSDs for you. If you are looking to cancel a breeding, please refer to the Breeding Refund Thread.

This is also a reminder that if you are submitting predictions for HBC, they MUST be posted in the HBC Prediction Thread to be processed.

If you have any questions regarding HBC, please direct your enquiries to TJ (#12687).

eggcoin.pngAdditionally, we are looking for artists to join our BC/HBC team!magic_holidaybreedingcoin.png

Pendants are still predict-only, aren't they?

Phage [LL] (#21624) - Yes they are, but any breedings submitted prior to the pendant change will be assigned to a site artist. - TJ

Hmm, alright thanks!

Although...that hybrid option does sound enticing, I'll mull it over a few days and see what I decide.

hmm a tempting offer, but i might just wait as well. Been waiting since mid-January 2017 for my baby and thinking I would still love the baby I was originally promised all those years ago. (Well maybe not 'promised' but figured I would get when submitting it.)
I do have a question though-
I've had a BC Candy on my breeding for a long while (I think I added it about a year after originally submitting it?) If I did switch to the BC option, would that still count? Or does it even still count it I keep it on the normal HBC wait list?

Queen Chrysalis🍬 (#1507) - any thematic addons will count as normal. - TJ

@#2, I finally got around to selecting three Hybrids for a breeding that's been in the queue since 2017, just to find that it's already been assigned! Is there any way to contact the artist to let them know I'd rather have a hybrid than whatever the default would be? This is the only pre-Mar 11 coupling I have, so I'd much prefer the hybrid!
