Hello again, Aywas!
After leaving the poll up for the full weekend, waiting until votes slowed and we felt we had gotten as many votes as we could, it's been decided that all Breeding Pendants will become predict-only. We will be giving a grace period of until 12:00 am, August 1st for users to submit any last breedings with the pendants before we turn them over to predicts. If you have a current Pendant breeding in queue, it will not be affected by this change; this decision is only for Pendant breedings going forward starting August 1st.
With this change, however, we wanted to make predictions a little more enticing for our users, so we're announcing updated and new kickbacks!
Some have been updated, such as Breeding Coins going from 10 GP to 25 GP. Some have been added, including Sketch and Scribble which give 7 and 12 GP respectively! None have been lowered, though some remain the same.
We'll be working on including these in the Knowledge Base, so be on the lookout for that! Until then, however, here's the full list of Breeding kickbacks;
• Platinum Breeding Coin/Pendant - 30 GP + Grazelle Sapling
• Alidae Egg, Blind Date, Breeding Coin/Pendant, Eggnog, Dragon Lotus, Evil Breeding Coin/Pendant, Holiday Breeding Coin/Pendant, Neura Embryo, Transitional Fossil Egg - 25 GP
• Scribble Breeding Coin, Smudged Scribble Breeding Coin - 12 GP
• Sketch Breeding Coin - 7 GP
• Metal Breeding Coin/Pendant - 500,000 BP + 5 GP
• Holiday Mistletoe, Lesser Breeding Coin/Pendant, Mininogg, Painted Lesser Breeding Coin, Painted Metal Breeding Coin, Speed Dating Slip - 5 GP
• Rusted Breeding Coin - 3 GP
• Half Lesser Breeding Coin - 2 GP
• Radioactive Breeding Coin/Pendant - 150,000 BP
• Derp Breeding Coin - 60,000 BP
These new kickbacks will take effect immediately!
There will be more announcements forthcoming, but we still need a little bit of time to work them out so that it's fair and benefits everyone, so stay tuned over the next couple of months!

I would... pay usd for a painted lesser breeding coin pendant... that had a regen time and a set cap limit on how many coins you can use from it. Like say its got a bulk discount for buying it but after turns into just a pretty item. But it lets you get a breeding every month for like two years worth of breedings

I think it's easy to say the pendants cost the site "X" amount without considering how much cash people spent to get them... The site did make money off of them historically. I had to buy 3 Lesser Breeding Pendants to trade in for mine. That was not cheap at all... They made the site a good amount. Just pointing that out.

I only ever had an RBP and used it in hopes of getting metals without having to do any of the work. I do understand why the other pendants have changed (just not RBP as that queue isn't backlogged), but I totally understand why lots of people are upset. The poll clearly says the majority didn't want predict only.

Something to consider when suggesting things like the above (painted pendant) is that Aywas pays less in taxes if they pay for art/coding/etc in the same period as those purchases. Which means that usually Aywas tries to pay for as much as possible when they do get the chance. If you extend that into a regenerating item, especially if it stretched over years, the site really won't have any of that original purchases money to support paying the artists for those babies, taxes would already be paid from that purchase. Regenerating items that require site provided art just aren't sustainable for a smaller site. You pay 100$ for something now but it continues costing the site every set amount of time that ends up being a drain financially in the end. At this point the site has paid out far more than they ever would have seen from even straight gp purchases, though a lot of people got gp through other sources like back when scav was flooding the market regularly. Even with regular usd purchased coins can see a bit of this problem if people hold onto them for a while, the money they spent is long gone at that point. I'm not sure how much people are considering the logistics for pemdants, and considering that this could literally have been what killed the site if pendants remained site provided. I definitely do hope the trade in suggestions are considered though, and the thread linked earlier is a great way to open up suggestions from pendant owners. (typing on my phone so hopefully not too many errors)

They did make the site a good amount of money. A minimum of 5 years ago. All that money si gone and now its causing the site to go into the red. No current breeding is from the time the last pendants were sold.

Oh Arem, I meant like, as predict only pendants.
So like... these are just so the user has a fun item to play with rather than hoarding coins (cause burden of choice often makes people not act!)

I would definitely love to see breeding pendants reintroduced after August 1, I would likely try to save up and buy some.... just saying.
That being said once I kill my current site and PPP lists I will be trying to trade my arts for slots of my own.

I was going to say a lot... but after reading the many pages I realize what I wanted to say has been said...mostly.
I am kinda in a grey area. I do art to a limited extent. I am still to timid in my editing and shading areas so say I could do BC breeding baby but I agree with the change. The money that was generated from the original sale of the pendants are long gone and they are now just putting in more underlining cost to the site.
I have noticed that the site itself had less income (USD) to operate for things like the ungoldy big breeding ques(just check Breeding statues). If you look most people use the commission panel. Yes the sit get a Small kick back from that it is just that small. That goes to artist and is better for the artist who does get more then directly then working for the sit. Look at the change that happened a while back to where they had to change the pay to artist from USD to site currency options. So a lot of artist rather get USD so less are site. I tend to build a lot of GP from my lists and just sit on it till I feel luck to be able to buy something (which is normally around Mayday/Xmas events).
I am not rolling in USD so most the time I can not buy anything from other artist. Which is fine I can still look but to me if we can stop things that put the site in red and let them get back on their feet then a lot of things we want to happen will. Site artist might get paid in USD in the future due to the site get income from current purchases of coins etc.
If site/breeding is moving along better. More income in the site/artist then there is options and funds available to have events and short term items for site currency supported by site artist so that non artists can get babies/customs with out commissioning artist themselves.
In short I think this is a step in the right direction.

With this being done, we have a future possibility of releasing BCs again in the shop and having breeding season return!
Just for thought: current pendant breedings in queue have cost the site 20,000 USD.
