Hello again, Aywas!
After leaving the poll up for the full weekend, waiting until votes slowed and we felt we had gotten as many votes as we could, it's been decided that all Breeding Pendants will become predict-only. We will be giving a grace period of until 12:00 am, August 1st for users to submit any last breedings with the pendants before we turn them over to predicts. If you have a current Pendant breeding in queue, it will not be affected by this change; this decision is only for Pendant breedings going forward starting August 1st.
With this change, however, we wanted to make predictions a little more enticing for our users, so we're announcing updated and new kickbacks!
Some have been updated, such as Breeding Coins going from 10 GP to 25 GP. Some have been added, including Sketch and Scribble which give 7 and 12 GP respectively! None have been lowered, though some remain the same.
We'll be working on including these in the Knowledge Base, so be on the lookout for that! Until then, however, here's the full list of Breeding kickbacks;
• Platinum Breeding Coin/Pendant - 30 GP + Grazelle Sapling
• Alidae Egg, Blind Date, Breeding Coin/Pendant, Eggnog, Dragon Lotus, Evil Breeding Coin/Pendant, Holiday Breeding Coin/Pendant, Neura Embryo, Transitional Fossil Egg - 25 GP
• Scribble Breeding Coin, Smudged Scribble Breeding Coin - 12 GP
• Sketch Breeding Coin - 7 GP
• Metal Breeding Coin/Pendant - 500,000 BP + 5 GP
• Holiday Mistletoe, Lesser Breeding Coin/Pendant, Mininogg, Painted Lesser Breeding Coin, Painted Metal Breeding Coin, Speed Dating Slip - 5 GP
• Rusted Breeding Coin - 3 GP
• Half Lesser Breeding Coin - 2 GP
• Radioactive Breeding Coin/Pendant - 150,000 BP
• Derp Breeding Coin - 60,000 BP
These new kickbacks will take effect immediately!
There will be more announcements forthcoming, but we still need a little bit of time to work them out so that it's fair and benefits everyone, so stay tuned over the next couple of months!

Reven (#17282) I have to say, that if you were buying radioactive COINS, not pendants, coins remain the same, NOT predict only. you can still have babies made by site from radioactive COINS.

Gerry i don't know how to respond directly but yes i get that this will only affect my pendant. it was early and i was tired when i wrote my rant and i mistakenly mentioned coins. but it still makes the pendant i worked pretty hard for pointless. That part of my gripe stands

People are suggesting the poll was unfair on this very thread and the one before it; how can you imagine people feel when you won't listen to them voicing how unfair this was and acknowledge you made an error in how the poll was presented? How can you imagine people want to suggest new ways to fix things when they're not being listened to in the very same news posts this was suggested?
Everyone KNOWS this isn't sustainable, and they UNDERSTAND it isn't; what they want is for staff to hear out the fact that this poll was - intentionally or not - very skewed towards one result and fix that. Sixty-one percent of users have voted on methods that allowed for pendants to still use site artists, but you've thrown that out the window for the thirty percent.
What you CAN do is make an in-depth poll that is fair. That is my suggestion. You can listen to it or not, but I don't have faith after this response. You aren't truly listening to me, you aren't truly listening to people upset. People are reasonably upset and losing faith in speaking up if you're not going to listen to them here.

I haven't been active on here for quite some time, but this is quite disappointing. I know something needed to be done as my myself am still waiting on breedings from 2017 and that's partly why I left as the breeding element was the main reason I joined in the first place
I support users submitting predicts getting some sort of payout as incentive but I don't think predict ONLY is the right way to go. Not everyone is artistic or can afford to find an artist to make predicts for them. This also ruins the element of surprise. Surely there are other options?
Suggestions:
* Make a SEPERATE predict only version that offers payout for submitting predicts (Keeping the regular one for non-predicts with no payout)
* Put a temporary hold on Breeding pendants so no more breedings can be submitted until things are more caught up.
* Turn them into talismans so they break after so many uses OR
* Remove pendants altogether but offer a trade in option for several coins/talismans
* Have seperate queues for pendants so it doesn't interfer with the regular coins and IF things get caught up then this can change.

Ive seen a suggestion pop multiple times about creating predict only versions of the pendants and keeping these the same; not only will that not help the queues at all that are choking the site, but users have proven that they wont trade them in. We have half coin trades for whole coins and theyre never capitalized on.

Well, after reading everything, I have a few more ideas. First off, I DO know that art is more than pixels. It's art..but it still can only be used on this site. :-/ But, hey, if you've got that kind of money, more power to ya! :-)
I think the site was setup wrong. It was setup as a free site, BUT wanted to offer Premium services. It would have been ideal if, at the beginning, a minimum membership fee were setup....say $5 month, maybe with the first 1 or 2 months free to get you hooked on the site. ;-) Then the site could have hired a full-time Artist....seriously, not just a member who joined a team, but a person who was hired to do art 40 hours a week. That MIGHT have worked. But, it's too late for that. I doubt there are enough people left to even attempt that.
The main problem, I see, is that the site draws the attention of artists who want to earn a living doing art and people who just want to have free fun - these two things are incompatible. There's just no way that could work on a long-time basis. Those two types of people have opposite goals.
Now, I don't own a Pendant, nor am I into breeding..but, since these items have become "predict-only" from here on out, I would certainly hope that some of the art rules will be relaxed. That's the least that could be done.
Now, I do think that 1 other option would fix things. Keeping the Pendants as "Site Artist" items, BUT simply making a rule that, no matter what the regeneration cycle is....making a rule that that Pendant cannot be used again until you get the current breeding back. Now, IF people happen to have multiple Pendants of the same type, then maybe expand the rule to say you can't use that type of Pendant again, until all the babies are back....but, maybe it's okay, to make the rule just per Pendant....whichever works best. And if you happen to have a few different types of Pendants, EACH one could have ONE breeding in queue. But, each can only be used again after each baby comes in.
But, wouldn't that fix the problem just as well as making all the Pendants "Predict-Only"?? I think you've said the that ones in queue will remain as "Site Artist" breedings....so, wouldn't making that rule have the same effect, but without upsetting people who don't have the finances to pay a professional artist or who can't do it themselves..they can be assured that down the road, they'll be able to use their Pendants again??

Oh and about the breedings already in queue..all the breedings, not just the Pendants - try to determine if the members are still around. Wouldn't it be a shame if Artist spend hours doing several of the oldest breedings only to find out the members who placed those breedings left years ago and will never be back?

I want to point out that a lot of people have said the same thing about "only being able to get predicts during PPP" for various reasons, which is all fine and dandy PPP is great as more artists come out of the woodwork but it being a repeated event is NOT a guarantee. It hasn't been from the start. (If I'm wrong on this please correct me)
A lot of those same players are staying they can't get predicts done because artists want USD and wot accept site currency- while this is true a LOT of those same artists are the extremely talented big "name brands" of Aywas so why shouldn't they want USD for the time and effort they put in for predicts? There ARE a BUNCH of artists whom DO willingly accept site currency and alternate means of pay to do predicts you just have to look for them. There's nothing wrong with wanting a "name brand" predict, God knows I've spent a pretty penny this PPP alone for some of mine, but it's worth it for gorgeous babies, but there's also nothing wrong with giving a "new artist" a chance at doing your predicts. Who knows maybe they'll gain confidence to join one of the breeding teams that are always desperate for more artists.
