Xaoc breeding update

Site Update

Good afternoon, folks! You probably remember this newspost from two months ago, in which we explained that Xaocs have certain breeding restrictions. There is a strict rule that you cannot have a clone of rare genus', and breeding two of them together creates a clone in 99% of these situations.
I wanted to remind everyone that while the newspost didn't specifically mention PBCs, this does apply to platinum breedings, too!

However, Kaiyo and I just agreed that we will allow breedings between two Xaocs if a third non-Xaoc parent is included, which you can do by adding a Mysterious Platinum DNA to your SBC or PBC breeding. Offspring of a breeding between three parents must recognizably feature the non-Xaoc parent (for example by using its base to determine the type of creature, and mostly using the Xaoc parents' edits as such).

Happy breeding!

So... if I used a Platinum Breeding Coin with a Mysterious Platinum DNA and a third parent (let's say a Melo), I would get a Melo with some of the two Xaocs' edits/features? And if I had a Life Seed attached, I would get two members of a new species? Breeding is so complicated, lol.

Eeeeepp so I can continue my xaoc breeding project, even though it's in a slightly different form :P

Yes, if you use 2 xaoc parents you must add the DNA for a different third parent pet. You will get something mostly based off that third pet, so it won't resemble xaocs too much, but it will be a silver pet, not on site lines. You can add a life seed to that, so you can still make a species ;)

If only 2 xaocs really did look good together edits wise. Also does this go in effect for other types rares as well?

KaalaSmallteeth (#16356) Yeah, pretty much. It wouldn't be A melo, but a doggy/furry quad body basically, with maybe a cloak/hood or whatever else can be used from the xaoc. The main issue with just xaoc x xaoc breedings is their bodytypes are hidden by the clothing, so it is VERY difficult to make a baby that doesn't look like 'xaoc fanart' basically =P

holy kris2 (#15280) All SCC (even with just the crystal instead of PBC/SBC) has had the rule of it can't look like rare species, so yeah. It's just in general easier to make a baby not look identical in features to it's parent's species with other rares. The Xaoc is the more difficult one cuz of it's unique bodytype and lack of features.

Is the third parent in a PBC breeding considered equally otherwise?

In a non-Xaoc/Xaoc PBC breeding, I mean
