Site Update
I want to take a moment to thank everyone posting in our Think Tank and announce that we have already decided to implement a few of these! First up, we are going to hold a Special Artist Event!. Some of our older members may remember these, however with the commission panel being added they were no longer necessary as users could hire their artists for cash there. Instead, this event will temporarily remove the predict cap entirely!
Starting right now, artists have until February 27th to accept as many prediction commissions as they feel they can complete within one month. The USD commissions must go through the Commission Panel! All information must be handled in the artists thread and all commissions must be completed by March 27th, 2017. Please see this thread for detailed rules and information! And visit the Predict Event 2017 Board! for who is participating!
The Derpy Dragon and Tiny Silver Potion have both found their way into the USD shop as requested! At this point they are permanent members, as we are hoping to be able to stimulate the SCC market a bit!
We have created a new Platinum Custom Crystal! This crystal is similar to the Silver Custom Crystal, however it does not work with the Silver Custom Panel. This means you will have to provide the the art yourself or hire another artist to do it for you. This crystal is cheaper than the Silver Custom Crystal, and can be found in the GP and USD Shop. It may eventually be removed from one of the shops in the future.
The results of the Save a Raw poll are in! We are happy to announce the winner:
The Horuset is being moved to the ranks of Uncommon Ara! These birdsnakes can now be created with Flaming Orbs!
Because it has been so long and we have so many raws, we have also saved two more raws! The Tavi can now be found under Uncommon Ay, and the Heggal is now a Common Ay species!
We are making a few adjustments to the way users and staff interact. We have received an influx of behavior in crystal checks and customs, that if a user would do to another user they would receive a warning. Due to this, we are going to start moderating these actions and users will receive punishment for when staff is involved, as well. If you repeatedly disrespect and abuse staff, you may receive a warning as well as a temporary customs ban.
This ban is one month in length and means that you cannot submit Crystal Checks, Repository PSDs, or custom designs. Any attempts to do so will lengthen the ban, as will using friends to circumvent it. Anyone found to be aiding a customs banned user in using the custom system will also receive the ban.
This is an unfortunate move that we're having to make, and we hope that this is not something we will have to institute on other features on the site.
One more bit of information, the poll! There has been talk for a Teo Pen, similar to the Fox Pen, that will allow 10% edits for a Gen 1 Teo. Staff is entirely divided on this, so we thought it would be best to ask everyone elses opinion! Please feel free to comment below! The pen would be for USD to help keep them limited and only allow 10% edits.

No predict cap is awesome! :0 Sucks I'm too busy right now to participate, but I'm hoping maybe this is a test of the waters to see if it's more profitable for the site to remove predict caps? Would certainly open up more commissions avenues for members of the site if that's the case! :0
Of course a cheaper custom crystal is introduced right after I use a siler XD Not complaining though, I have a bunch of customs I need to upload so this helps out a ton! If I'm understanding it correctly, you can use it to upload a custom pet but CAN'T make it a founded species?

I'd love a Teo pen - If there's an opportunity to make my teos unique, that'd be cool. Plus I have some with the same lines so it'd be cool to make them a bit different to each other!
Also, it's a shame to hear that there's abuse in the custom checks!

Lyf (#57836) *pats* It's okay =p And as I said: I fully understand the concerns of those with unique Teo (I own a few myself, so I'd be crazy not understanding them, I think). It's why we're polling in the first place, to see if those concerns outweigh the benefits or not, according to the userbase.
Cerine [Return LLs] (#51249) Correct. Kaiyo announced this change in her huuuuuuge Black Friday prep post back in September:
"...and this year we are allowing the artists a 30% unique of their own set!"
Any uniques from before that post were only allowed 10% changes.
That being said, looking at some of the uniques I personally own (Kōu and Zara in particular) makes me suspect they may not have been crystal checked before Kaiyo took over (this was before I joined staff so I may be completely wrong on this!), so some "10%" uniques might actually be a bit over? I honestly don't know, not my department and before my time =p But my point is: I know that uniques are now being rigoriously crystal checked, and the same would be true for the Teo pens.

Marjo - returns LLs (#5741), I'm trying to upload a custom Horuset, but there's no option in the dropbox for that species at this time. Should I go ahead and select something else and then post it to the "Wrong Genus" forum when it comes back?

I'm honestly surprised about the customs/crystal check abuse thing. I'm not even sure how that can be done? do people like yell at staff when things to go their way? I can't see going "darn" or something.
But I'm just having trouble imagining a large amount of people harassing staff about things like "my melo's 55% dammit can't i just use a blue crystal this once" or "i bet you didn't crystal check correctly. i demand a recount. how can you do this to me?" or idk what.. a lot of my scenarios aren't even that terrible if worded a bit more politely... i just can't imagine bad-worthy offense - even temporary ones...
I'm sorta worried I might get in trouble now when maybe discussing with a mod (eventually. and again. because i've discussed it with a mod before to no avail..) about what i'm supposed to do with my gcc designed gold finn when the artist has not been online for nearly a year and there is no gold finn maker (and even if there was, it would be too expensive for me.. and the design is like 57% ... so it's like so close yet so far)...
so yeahhh... i'm now worried that contacting about this would get me in trouble because ... i'm so frustrated about it.. i'm worried nothing fruitful (for me) could get done and i might snap a little. because i'm bought most of my design tickets and thus the moment really money is on the line i get a bit.. testy... hypothetically speaking, would showing a bit of frustration (not involving cursing anyone out or anything major, just potentially disagreeing) - would that get me custom banned?
this hypothetical situation just being an isolated thing? I think. most of my comments have been me just mentioning what my personal crystal check was and being curious how close i may have been - which has never been responded to in a negative manner...
but idk.. i'm just having a hard time imagine what the heck people are doing that is so terrible... because the really bad case scenarios i think of involving like cussing out and being demeaning don't seem to be worth it or make sense to do - if one were to want any sort of positive solution (and also as that kind of response would definitely be in the wrong in this case... crystal checks and custom stuff isn't very open open to much, if any, subjectivity. it's a fairly objective process... thus my confusion of how this became a legit issue O.o;;;
Also, super happy about Horuset being added as a regular genus! albeit being a uncommon, it doesn't make gold versions all that much cheaper than a raw stave (when released at regular shop pricing, or even better shop pricing on sale). but it's enough cheaper i'm still happy! I can now make a whole band of my "metal/punk/elemental" musician naga horusets (and maybe even female versions o wo). I can also re-release the psd to the public because i kinda felt bad offering it when it had to use such an expensive custom maker!
and tavi also makes me excited! I have a cardinal tavi psd (blue) i still need to use! And now I can make Kirara's repository rat tavi! 8D. Might need to make a million. or i would if they are ara. and not uncommon (just noticed that right now lol.. darn). Need to decide which rat to base it on >_>;; or to do something different entirely... *sighs at my /terrible/ indecisiveness*
also platinum crystals are also a real nice thing! slightly dissapointed the price difference isn't all that much... as it makes using the feature seemingly only worth ~20 GP with the custom maker being still very expensive at 80 GP (I feel something like 60 GP would have made more sense... for the platinum crystal. with (regarding regular 100 GP SCC) 40 GP/ $20 via the site's suggested (in essence) conversion rates being towards the actual panel, hypothetically). but eh, beggars can't be choosers and i'm still at least somewhat please by this *shruggle* ^-^

Marjo - returns LLs (#5741) The most recent Black Friday Teos had 30%, but the past ones are said to only have 10%? (https://www.aywas.com/news/view/3908/ ). That's the only post I've had that explicitly mentioned the unique, most of the time that was only something that was mentioned if you asked about it or heard from other artists. A friend has a PM with someone asking about buying a unique where it was said as 10%, too. ^^;
