What's that on the horizon?!?
"This is Library Mustache, here to tell you that you should submit some books!"
Good day, everyone! I'm happy to announce that Library is officially functional and we're ready to accept books again! I'd like to officially thank our Library Artists that have been hired, and they're all looking forward to help you publish your books!
There are some significant changes being made to Library, so here's an update!
Some of you may remember that the Library submission rules were very strict, and it made it hard for books to be passed. I spoke with the rest of staff and we agreed that it was a little over the top to expect so much for the feature, so the Library Knowledge Base article received a thorough thrashing from me!
Some key changes are:
-More leniency toward submissions in general.
-A much-needed update to how sequels/prequels will work.
-Poetry is now allowed! That's right! No more prose-only! Poems must follow all submission rules. They will need a beginning/middle/end and must be Aywas-related.
Please take a moment to brush up on the KB before submitting more stories!
Some users had expressed concerns about books becoming devalued in user shops and having their royalties basically diminish because of it. To try and fix this, we're going to be setting the rarity of Library-submitted books higher than we previously have. We will also be brainstorming for other ways to keep the books in value without making them impossible to get!
The last thing I want to remind everyone of is that Library submissions count toward Contributor status! If you're looking to turn purple, this is the place to be! More information about earning your purple can be found in the Library Knowledge Base article!

Rudy (#4485), I'm having the same issue as #768 in that I have 2 pages of books in the Library, but both pages show the same 25 books vs. having 34 in my Inventory.

I'm trying to figure out what's going on with this. :c I'm thinking it might just be the amount of books. I tested it with ~22 and I don't seem to be having any issues, but if you'd like to PM me/me PM you so I can gather more info, I'm totally open to it. At this point I really have no idea what's causing it, but I'm trying! xD <3

I had no idea that this was a feature (probably wasn't paying attention well enough in the roughly two years I've been here). The writer in me likes this. :o

Can you make the books not too too hard to find? Otherwise the authors aren't going to be able to collect royalties for books that no can buy out of the little book store.
I understand the devaluation -- my book is out there too (The LIfe and Turning Times of Jimmy Chorlu) and pops up for free in games etc. -- but if you made them available only in the book store that would help. I got royalties in the beginning, but then they became readily (sorry for the pun :P ) available free or nearly free in user shops.
I hope to be able to write more stories to make more books.....

The books are now all set at Legendary Rare and stock four at a time. I was given the option to set them to AD if I wanted, but I chose not to because of this exact reason. (Being near-impossible to restock.) This way, they won't stock extremely often but they also won't flood the market too quickly. If it turns out the books are way too hard to get, I can always go back and adjust the rarity. For now, at least for a little while, I want to see how the current setup fairs. (:
