@rammy: Even IF it were in motion, which it isn't - I'll explain that in a second - it would still be way too long.

Now onto the other point: the back leg looks like it could be in motion, because of that second backwards knee or whatever it's called. That is however part of the legs, and not a heel if you look at the other legs of either version. The back leg is not on it's toes, what's really going on is the foot is angled such that the toes are closer to the viewer and the heel is behind. The only foot of the new version that isn't flat on the ground is the far front foot. :/

The only one that looks like the insi is your last picture, and that cat is crouching while walking. I still don't see the hip jutting with a leg stretched that far. Obviously an animal can stretch it's leg, that's not really the issue here. In my opinion.

Frey, that sort of discrepancy is common in rodents, some marsupials, and varieties of jumping insects.

Gl.tch, in that picture the cat is stretching it's body. The insi is either in a pose or just stretching it's back leg.

I chose greyhounds as they have long legs. When they walk their legs do not extend that far behind them. And when they stand they also do not go that far. I know it's not an actual animal, but that leg does look off. The front legs are a lil short too though.

Ishi: in the new artwork, at LEAST the two hind legs are poised on their toes.

The 'backwards knee' -is- the heel, sorry.

Frey: I was assuming the Insi was caught stalking some other prey. That is certainly the idea it gives off to me - not 'posed' per se, just in a natural, if surprised-and-froze, stance.

Definitely not just strolling along.

If you're going to post refs of how cats move and then say that it's a common discrepancy in other animals... then... where is the anatomy comparison? xD I'm getting confused.

I like both and I think the new goes better with the current site pets but I don't like the tail and legs on the new one :/

Lol people should stop BAWW'ing and realize how sexy the new lineart is. I love the more detailed shading on all the new pets. SO much better than the old stuff. The old Insis just aren't attractive to me. And the tail... WIN. It makes sense that the insi should have a scorpion tail because the manticore has one (I mean they have to come from somewhere right?).
