also dont get me wrong the stag set is better than a lot of the options i've seen up to vote on over the years, but since the voting window usually is longer a tie breaker would be fair.

Lemon + Honey (#43082) i'm not saying that they are cheaters or liars ... just that the substantially shorter than usual voting period with such a close result and no tie breaker when there have recently been ones with more of a lead that they DID do tie breakers on could easily be construed as the appearance of such things....

i do plan on buying some of the set that kei designed when it is available , ever heard of playing devils advocate? it means basically i pointed this out for the sake of making sure that staff realizes just how bad the situation could appear given the combination of their actions previous months compared to in this case.. because its better to get stuff like this in the open than potentially have players thinking it without it being addressed which would leave them open to this possibly turning into something that could l cause reactions to anything that appears inconsistent in the future to potentially snowball and be worse than the otherwise might have been.

I'm not staff but I would assume that it be up to staffs discretion whether there is a tie breaker at all. Unless I'm wrong but nothing I've seen says that they have to do a tie breaker even if the votes are really close. The satyr set won. I think questioning staff is the wrong way to go about things. Just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure you are mixing up the voting run time for the Monthly HA Base and the Monthly HA Colouring.

This is the knowledge base for the Monthly HA Contest. Quoted directly, here are the voting run times:

Contest Schedule
Basing Thread: [Month A] 1st
Basing Vote: [Month A] 8th
Colouring Thread: [Month A] 10th
Colouring Vote: [Month A] 26th
Release: [Month B] 1st

So, basing vote is set to last 2 days, while colouring vote is set to last 4 or 5 days (depending on the month).

While this month's voting was a couple of days late compared to the knowledge base (pretty standard), I can assure you it's been running for the same time as the many previous months base votings.
I've had bases running in a lot of those, so it's not something that easy to forget, but you can also pretty easy backtrack the contest for a few months in the news archive, and see that this is the case. ;)

---

I do understand that it can seem a bit weird or consufing, that the colouring is running that much longer. But then... You cannot reuse a monthly colouring if it doesn't win, whereas old bases can be resubmitted the next month, sold or made into your own custom items. :)

The poll was closed on Monday, as I stated it would be, and I waited until one base had a clear and unchanging lead. While the margin was small, it was unmoving as several people have already agreed.

Ironically, of the two bases I wanted Yuu's to pull ahead. Kei's is a gorgeous base with great potential, and it's won it's place fair and square - I just know of a lot of folks who are getting restless with a lot of the HA bases being part animal in some fashion, which affects my personal feelings but not my official duties in running this contest.

I understand people can get frustrated if bases they don't want to win don't, or if people get funny with the polls after the official drawing has been made, but if folks are wanting to accuse me of cheating the vote then they ought to at least get the facts right on which I wanted to win (and I voted for neither of the top two) ;)

Thank goodness we're so lucky to have brave souls being the faces of justice, the white knights who stands against the darkness of of unjust polling. Thanks be to ye.

kelladria (#10029) actually you are technically calling people liars and cheats. Don't sugar coat it if your gonna call people out do it all the way.

All of this drama and arguing is making me not want to even submit my set again. Can we please just be happy that a good set won? We had a whole crapload of good sets up for voting this month, so of course the competition was going to be tough.

People should realise that although these bases were all stunning works of art, they'll still just pixels. Not worth throwing a huge tantrum over as it seems have happened in here. Eve did exactly what she was supposed to do, even if it was a close call.
I personally thought this month was a really hard choice as all bases had amazing vision, detail and shading. (I secretly hope that all will be resubmitted haha).

And finally, congrats Kei!
