Mystery Box has Opened!!!

Site Update

As promised on the Service Dog announcement, the Mystery Box has opened!

If you're not familiar with the Mystery Box, it's a special extra item you get for every purchase of $5.00 or more. Tickets go into the feature associated with it. If you're extra lucky, you'll get something awesome!

Remember, if you buy USD Items, be sure to send a PM to #15 with the name of the items you bought, the quantity, and the total price. Also, please keep in mind that we've removed the Artist Paintbrushes from the USD Shop temporarily. They will return after the sale has completed.

The Mystery Box sale will continue until 11:59 PM on August 3.
Remember that 10% of whatever you buy today (August 2nd) goes toward our designated charity, which we've been keeping track of over here!

Let's start off with an Awesome August~
Who's looking forward to all the early month news posts?

um i love paintbrushes tho and i am distressed to hear they are going away??? i think its good that they provide an actual item users can trade to use usd for art, thats a very unique feature of this site -- and it's easy to save up for more expensive commissions by slowly buying paintbrushes from other users. it seems sketchy and not cool to me that in future i will have to be like "hey can i pay you GP so you can pay this artist with USD?" It just kind of sounds like it can cause problems.

kelsey basically said what ive been thinking since I heard about this. Commissions and custom auctions might be weirdly and badly affected by the removal of PBs

I agree with Lyra & MIA (#37548) - I'm sad to hear paintbrushes are disappearing, because I mainly rely on GP for commissions. Quite a lot of the more expensive/talented/skilled artists have pretty much moved exclusively to the commission feature, leaving the "GP-crowd" out.

I can see where it's coming from, though. But yeah, sad to see that even the paintbrush "loophole" will disappear, and that the site seems to become more and more USD-oriented =(

I'm sad to hear that paintbrushes will disappear as well. I'm the type of player who earns BP to buy GP and then uses the GP to buy paintbrushes. I don't mind USD exclusive items because I can still buy them with GP but I think doing this will be harder with the commission platform if paintbrushes disappear

Rosethorn (#15910) I think you phrased that so much better than I did x3 But yep, that's my point exactly.

I'm also sad to see paint brushes going away. I very rarely have money to be able to purchase GP or things from the shop... so I had been saving up to be able to get brushes or design tickets for commissions. I have no way to pay the $20+ fee that a lot of the commission artists are charging...

So as a user who would spends a month or longer getting BP to sell for GP, and then buying brushes with it the phasing out change sucks because there would be no way for me to commission unless I could get my hands on a design ticket (which were removed from the shop already, but they are still obtainable in mystery boxes and such) as a lot of artists are not interested in just GP commissions.

The last set of Mystery Boxes I had gotten a Tendril gem and a blue raw crystal... and ended up selling them both because I could not find any one who was willing to take a commission for either for GP... as the site moves to the "commissions" feature I see less artists willing to take GP which means more users who are less interested in purchasing GP since they can't purchase a commission with it.

Marjo (#5741), Rosethorn (#15910), and Taena (#66637) have all expressed the same concerns that I have regarding the removal of PBs. Saving up site currency to commission OOAK customs is the main reason I play the site, and that will be taken away once the PBs go since it's really difficult to find an artist who will take GP commissions. :(

I am really upset because my partners card is refusing to accept with your system so I am not unable to get a custom of my service dog that some nice person was already designing for me. I think I may cry
