Mystery Box has Opened!!!

Site Update

As promised on the Service Dog announcement, the Mystery Box has opened!

If you're not familiar with the Mystery Box, it's a special extra item you get for every purchase of $5.00 or more. Tickets go into the feature associated with it. If you're extra lucky, you'll get something awesome!

Remember, if you buy USD Items, be sure to send a PM to #15 with the name of the items you bought, the quantity, and the total price. Also, please keep in mind that we've removed the Artist Paintbrushes from the USD Shop temporarily. They will return after the sale has completed.

The Mystery Box sale will continue until 11:59 PM on August 3.
Remember that 10% of whatever you buy today (August 2nd) goes toward our designated charity, which we've been keeping track of over here!

Let's start off with an Awesome August~
Who's looking forward to all the early month news posts?

Not too happy about the paintbrush announcement, but such is life.

I'm wondering if the total for the MB tickets is just in USD or... I'd be buying something in Canadian dollars, and with the conversion, I'd be paying more money.

Yui | Jix | Hero (#1113) its in USD.

Trust me, I feel your pain. I use AUD so a $20 sale is more like 25-30$ >.>

Honey Love (#25910) If I were to buy the PLBC pack right now, it's $17USD but it would be $22.25CAD that's a 5 extra dollars because of the conversion.

I know? I was agreeing with you that the conversion rate sucks, but all of Aywas prices are in USD so basically it sucks to be anyone not based in the USA if you want to make a purchase.

You are buying with your personal currency, converted to USD. Hence the "USD Shop".

It doesn't *really* cost you more I think. Just because we all use the term "dollar" does not mean it is worth the same. Like take a product found in all three countries (with distributors in all three countries or else it is extra import-y and will cost more as such). It will always be the cheapest in the US (though there was short period the Canadian dollar was almost worth as much as US dollar when converting... But in any case... The same exact job will also carry a different wage depending on the country (+ area w/in said country).... so ..... it would probably look like an australian makes better pay than they really do to -say- an american...ii mean.. frick.. Idk how to explain this very well lmao. But basically while they are all dollars they are all completely separate and automonous from each other unless when converted into one or another.. You might be paying 25-30 AD dollars. or 22.25 canadian dollars.. but i the end it is still 20 dollars or 17 dollars in USD worth. period. Another example is how expensive starbucks is in Australia compared to the US.. or so people say... we actually pay the same price. just yeah conversion rates... IDK if there is some sort of tax or fee when converting money (in some cases or ally cases. idk. I haven't left the country as an independent adult yet so I have yet to convert my money ever...). Did this make sense at all? It is 4 am. I am quasi asleep lol

What I gather Tequila is saying is that Currency is like Measuring Systems. "X USD = Y AUD = Z CAD" in the same measure that "B Feet = C Meters". Only with the complexity of various levels of living expenses to complicate the perception of the currency value.

Tequila Mockingbird (#64472) I know you're trying to be helpful but I know how currency works, and I wasn't saying anything about being confused by or debating what it comes out as. I'm honestly not sure why you felt the need to tag me?

At any rate, the shop would be great if it was able to show the most common currency for the memberbase. It wouldn't change the ACTUAL price of the product (eg, 20 USD = 20 USD) but it would show the Aussie folks AUD and hte Canadian CAD and all the other folks their personal currency so we wouldn't have to try and manually convert. I dunno if that would take a lot of coding work, though it would be great if the site could look into something like that.

It would take less coding work than you think, but it would have to depend on a third party to keep track of conversion rates in real time.

People who are talking about currency conversions and whatnot;

I really don't see the need to bring anything different up about how the USD shop works I mean; Aywas is U.S based; so why shouldn't everything be in U.S. Dollars? And I'm not saying that because I'm from the U.S. either; I'm in the UK so the currency conversion sucks for me too. If you need to work out the conversion prices; just use google? That's what I do ^^ regardless money is worth the same amount no matter what currency it is; so saying you are paying 'more' for something isn't accurate because you are paying the same as the person from the U.S. is paying; just your currency is worth more or less respective on the conversion rates.

Anyway; I wasn't meaning to step on toes or anything and I apologise if it comes across that way; this is just my thoughts on the matter.
