Pretty. Maybe paint it with the "Easter Color Dye" colors?

PEOPLE WHO COLOR, PLEASE MAKE IT JEWELED/SILK INSTEAD OF ARMOR!

Oh gawsh! I painted the BG sky upside down D: (dawn-scenery aim as I want to call it Dawn Bringer.. and I put the orange tones where the blue tones should be and vice versa.. I think... I didn't use a reference, hehe... and I'm never awake for the sunrise soo yep lmao. If it is actually correct I'm gonna feel like a reeeeaaal goofball xD; )

on another note, maybe I'm blind but I can't figure out in the rules is this would be allowed.. is it possible to even add jewels... I have red and green tones in mine and I'd like to put rubies and emeralds in the "armor" (made it into leather instead of typical metal armor. idk. if the leather is thick enough it could be good protection?) and the crown/sword too... but I'm not sure that would be considered line art change..which I don't think is allowed yeah.. this is like metal design for clothes? Never done HA colourings before..... or maybe if I do with with out a definitive lineart like thing it is ok? I'm not sure if that would look out of place since everything else has lines though :/

I'm relatively certain it works like metal. Sometimes small glowy add-ons have been allowed allowed, but I don't think you're allowed to change the lineart or erase the existing shading. Adding to empty parts usually allowed, though. And adding more layers of shading/texture also has been accepted.
As the base artist, I can add that the armor actually is shaded to not be plate. It's originally meant to be leather, or maybe even some sort of fabric. ;)

This list of previous bases and winning entries might be of help. Just don't go for the really early ones as good examples. I don't think those would be allowed Today. ;)

Thank you for hitting me up! I I was thinking I'd just be ignored but figured I'd put my question publicly anyways. Sometimes it is good to be wrong xD; Anywho, hopefully this lightshot link works. But where the red markings are is the general idea where I want to put jewels. It is "empty spaces".. I'm just not sure if jewels would not be considered a pattern or markings of sorts Clothing-style. Or if I don't do black line art around them would it be ok (kinda of like how I added gold outlining in some places where there was no distinct lines for it..I just didn't add line art. so I kinda a planned on doing it so the extra shading and highlights would emphasize they are jewels ... In the end, I'm not sure if it would be rejected as too much of an add-on. I'm not sure what you meant about adding to empty parts. As in one sense that could be a go for my idea since I'm only using empty parts.. But on the other hand.. it could mean you can add to empty parts but restrictions apply... I did notice one of the nebula skull entries added extra foldings and even lineart in an empty area of the poncho thing.. But I'm not sure if that is an older entry that wouldn't be allowed anymore.. It appears to be a rather recent one.. so now I'm sorta wondering if extra lineart is allowed as long as the original lineart and shading and all that base stuff is left in tact. I'm wondering the sames about metal pet customs now too as I have all these metal custom making items and knowing the exact limitations would be neat. But I don't like making assumptions or being too risky and am uncertain of everything so I am the type who needs things really laid out to me or I will just hmm and haw til I am so blue in the face I pass out XD; So yeah. The rules has implications of stuff.. I'm just uncertain what are the exact implications as some people aren't as intuitive as others? IDK. I'm confusing myself typing this because I'm so "idk wut do" right now. I mean. I'm still colouring the background and want to add some extra shading/texture before getting to the jewels so I'm not pressed for an answer yet... But I have to rethink what to do to make mine a little more unique before submitting if I can't do jeweled-ness at all. So I figured the sooner I put my question out there, the better :s

oh yeah. image link. almost forgot lol. here: https://prntscr.com/74vzag

Oh man. That came out a lot longer and text-blocky than I intended. crapola. Sorry! xD;

I can't help with knowing if it's allowed, but I would give you a suggestion, remember to zoom out and see what the detail looks like in actual size, I think your smallest jewels would be pretty much invisible.
(Sorry if I'm taking this too much off topic, maybe it's best to use the submission thread?)

I don't think anyone going into this thread would be upset about someone giving good HA-set advise to another user. In fact, better here than in the submission thread, I think. :)

Tequila Mockingbird (#64472)
The Nebula Skull Nomad is a pretty good example of a recent set with some small alterations, that was accepted.

I'm almost certain your gems would be accepted without lineart, and I think they would be accepted with lineart as well. But I can't say for sure.
My advice if in doubt: Message Eveglori and ask her. She's the one making the final calls in this contest, so if she says it's all good, you know it's safe, and if not you'll know what to stay away from.

Also, SpaceShipRat do have a very valid point about tiny details. My base is in a really high resolution, so remember to check what you're doing at the final size, before spending too much time on tiny details.

Yeah, I've been doing too much detail. but *sometimes* it makes a difference for the better even when shrunk down.. Not exactly what I intended as the true detail can't be seen.. but it adds a little texture at least xD;

I don't plan on hittintg up Eveglori because they are soooo busy. It is an uneccessary hassle because I'm too far gone. If I'm gonna be outted due to technicalities, at least I'll (hopefully) go out in style XD; (I'm not even sure I'll finish in coloring in time.. kinda wondering how to have to pictures up at once so I get the colours from the female to the male. I'm such a newb sometimes it is painful haha..

but I am actually pinging you because I have a question about the base. Is the sword in a sheath or is it hanging out freely. but held together with ropes. I have it as just a sword not.. But it recently occurred to me that maybe there is a sheath XD; And that is one thing that would make me inwardly shriek if i got outted due to that mistake. Soo yeah.. Is it sheathed? As I'll have to re-do the sword them but that is no biggie and would be worth it to have a chance at placing. (one can dream).

I have to re-do the background scenery too... The sky is coloured in a way that does not sense with where the lighting is coming from... which is a shame cause I think it came out looking kinda cool. A bit of a waste of good feels since I usually am critical of everything I do so undoing something I'm proud of is kinda meh, but whateve,r gotta do what feels best in the end. xD;
