Cash Auctions - Liquidation

Pets

It is with a heavy heart that Aywas brings you the opportunity to participate in the cash auctions of hundreds of custom pets. The reason for this is that the previous owner of the pets has caused us to fall nearly $5000 in debt due to chargebacks. I have a rant thread that goes into some detail regarding the situation.

We have to seek out a way to make ourselves whole for the damage done to us--both in terms of money lost and potential damage to the good standing of our payments account. As you can understand, if the chargebacks (which now number over a hundred in the past two months from this one individual) cause us to lose our payment accounts, that would be devastating. A high number of chargebacks can cause payment processors to cancel accounts with a company due to high risk.

Our PayPal account is not currently affected by this problem, but I have no idea if the volume of chargebacks on Amazon Payments could affect it in the future.

The USD Auctions page reflects all of the custom pets that we have decided to reclaim from the player who filed the chargebacks. You can pledge a bid on the pet by entering an amount and an invoice e-mail address.

Please note:

1. Bids made through USD auctions cannot be canceled.

2. Please place a bid only if you are committed to buying the pet if you win it.

3. Pets come "as is" as we have no idea what rules may have been placed on them. We will help mediate any issues between the new owner and any previous owners.

4. We would prefer accepting payment on our Amazon Payments account to prevent the delinquent account (it's in the negative) from being sent to collections and/or legal action taken against us for not having the disputed funds. If it cannot be paid through this, we will accept PayPal.

5. All auctions end in approximately seven days. End dates are listed on the auctions themselves.

6. When the auctions are over, your total bill (all your auctions won) will be invoiced to you. Upon successful payment, all pets won will be placed into your lair.

Some highlights below:

It is not a usual thing for Aywas to take repossession of pets on a banned account. This situation is unique, grave, and we hope will not have to be repeated in the future. Ultimately, we appreciate any support, because this is one of the worst situations we have found ourselves in.

As a final note, any comments making threats toward the individual who filed the chargeback will be removed without notice. This happened on tumblr before and it will not be permitted here. Believe me, I am just as angry as you are, but threats will only make things worse, and they cannot be tolerated.

Phoenix (#5088) From that I've gathered from the many places I've read about this. It was initially claimed as stolen but their is proof of them having said items and trading the items to others for a Xaoc elixir. If the credit card was stolen it wouldn't have been on their account or they would have returned the items to JAK. Instead when confronted they began giving the rest of the items away when told specifically not to transfer the items. Perhaps to get rid of the proof or to give friends gifts before knowing theyd be banned. They also ceased communication with staff who were trying to figure out what was going on.

It wouldn't have escalated probably if they stopped at the 2,500. Infact it didn't escalate TILL now because they double charged that were the claimed fraudulent charges taking 5,000 from the site thus the perma ban and the selling of the pets.

Least that's what I and a few others have gathered. Granted I don't have every detail but that seems to be the jist of it. Now perhaps a child was using a parents card and the parent found out and accused it as fraudulent while the child had the items but the fact remains they had the USD shop items, did not respond to staff after the initial few messages and they double charged the charge back. It may be sad this happened but the site cant loose 5,000 and 2,500 in items and expect to stay afloat and needs to make the money back somehow. Sadly this was necessary.

From what I'm gathering, multiple people heard the individual bragging about high-expense items while lamenting college fees that weren't getting paid? I think so, at least. But no. Said individual broke several rules, ceased contact with staff, and basically did everything the previous poster said. Communication was had in PMs and they were given fair chance to sort everything out. Something about the person's aunt being the card-holder also came into discussion in a PM with Slash.

Any reason why we can't search rare genii in the cash auctions?

I was told it was their grandma that owned the card. XD
Conflicting information from the user or just confusion?

Probably confusion. I never had any contact with the user and am just relaying what I've (sleepily) read on Slash's tumblr posts and the rant replies. :p

I would say from reading the posts and information so far it looks like this.
said user bought 1 item no chargebacks no problems on said purchase.. a while later user buys purchase after purchase to get to the $2500 mark. Then after buying all that getting stuff they want and everything. They " claimed the card was stolen or not used by them." Setting off the charge backs against aywas. This being said now. There are a few questions. The first one being WHY was the very first one ok. Did they get the permission there. If so WHY did the person letting them use the c.c let them keep it connected to there account. .. (this is going on the assumption they did NOT own the card used for these transactions). Which seems to be the biggest part of all of this it seems they used someone else's card with permission 1 time then decided oh I want... and just went on a charging spree not thinking the person that owned it would do anything or the consequences of there actions.. (this seems to be the leading understanding from all the information about this whole horrible situation.)

If this was there card. Pure and simple they knew what they where doing and the whole fraud if to get them off the hook. If it was not there card I think it really makes is alot harder. I don't know how it works for if you have permission to buy something 1 time. Then later once you know you could you use it without there Knowledge.. SAYING THIS.. now leads to another big problem. It was over a few months span.. how did the card owner NOT KNOW? I'm sorry but as far as I know we get statements every month? By mail or Online ? So they should have started seeing them showing up right away. If not the first month the second month definitely? Also.. ( ok just to say I have had my credit cards stolen and used!! So I've been a victim of this kinda thing).. most credit card companies call users when there are charges that are not normal. Why where they not informed? ..

Ok now if it's a bank card.. if it's a debit card ... you get a statement most know how much money should be in there account. Did they not notice how much was missing?

These are the things I'm thinking and wondering.. Truthfully in my opinion from all I've written it's very hard to say they *stole* the c.c and that it was used *unauthorized* the reason being if it was it would have been caught sooner atleast it should have from everything I could think of. And then ok even if it was unauthorized why did they get to use over 2500 in over 3 months without the card being canceled right away.. ?

I don't know the person I've just read what happened and even learned about this just yesterday so I'm using the information posted to make this conclusion.

The way I see it. They saw it as free money. I'm guessing they didn't think it would really have to (get paid). I'm thinking it didn't hit them that it would need to be paid with REAL money. It was I'll just put on the card charge charge charge.. and nothing will ever happen .. and in reality that didn't happen. Something happened and once they realized it HAD to be paid instead of paying it or trying to work it out they said it wasn't them it was fraud. Which from reading and writing this whole message I just can not believe this was fraud. It was done very intentionally.

My biggest saying is for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.
Action bought alot of money on a website thinking I'll never get a REAL bill for it... reaction... got the REAL bill couldn't pay it or didn't want to So claimed fraud Or stolen. To get out of paying..
(We can not read the person's mind so we don't know if that was what was intended all along or they just decided to do it when they realised how much it was and it couldn't be paid?

I hope this is ok it's just my ideas and opinions about the situations using all I have read. I hope to help all I can as I too as everyone else love aywas alot and have really enjoyed being on here. Please don't be stressed out to much and try to relax you have a wonderful community behind you and the business to help as we can.

P.s. if I missed anything or have said something not right please tell me I tried to use all the information given .. and tried to use the angles I could think of. I'm sure there are others Too.

I don't have too much extra this week (gotta buy my textbooks for the summer term) but I'll definitely at least try to contribute, even if it's only a few dollars! I like the site and I'd hate to see anything happen to it because of such a crazy chargeback amount... Best of luck, Aywas admins and such! I'm sure that everything'll turn out okay; this site has an amazing sense of community :3

There have been a lot of pets that other users donated added recently, many don't even have bids yet!, and more are still being posted in the donation thread even. Best way to sort is by time ending soonest and move from last page and forward to see the newer ones and vise versa. =)
