Community Tip Jar Projects
This is probably not an appropriate jar, but we will pretend it is.
Community Tip Jar Projects is a section of the forums newly opened up. It is designed to allow artists to make real money off their designs for community-driven projects.
SCENARIO #1: In the first scenario, an artist can set a "tip jar" monetary threshold in which they will create a free PSD for anyone to use.
SCENARIO #2: In the case where you want to limit the number of PSDs or you make premades (without rules, exception being 'one custom per PSD/design') for your tip jar design, you can choose to run a free raffle with a minimum of five winners (maximum is up to you).

There's certainly nothing stopping you from putting up multiple tip jars for different designs and letting people decide which to put their tip into, so to speak.

Is it possible to do a pledge and have the artist collect money once the full amount is pledged?
I think that would make it easier on tippers if they know they don't have to spend money on something that might never get made at all? I know I'd be kind of hesitant on this especially with people I don't really know.
I definitly like this idea though ^^

They could do the pledge idea if they want but it's not required. Remember that tippers are tipping to support an artist, not necessarily to get something. Tip because you want to support their work

What if we recycle ideas? Like, the fluffy raptor idea from the Teo Give and Take thread that I made, can the artist make alternate versions of the sets they made? Like with different genus and attributes, but they all look related to some degree, like a theme.

Ah, back with another question. xD Is it allowed to add extra incentive of your own volition? For instance, 'If the tip threshold is met the design is unlimited to everyone, BUT for the person who tipped the most I will do a free colouration.' I just feel that being able to add things ourselves outside what is required would help if a thread did come to a standstill, and would motivate people to tip more than the minimum. At the same time I don't want to make it feel like an auction or take away from the 'all for one and one for all' sort of feel the idea has so far. =/ So just asking your opinion.

You can't reward tippers for tipping, sorry. If you reach a certain amount (or amounts), you could offer a giveaway to ALL PLAYERS (important distinction). And there's no limit to the sort of designs you can offer.

So it would be like combining the two styles (unlimited vs limited giveaway)? If $x is met the PSD is unlimited but if $xx is met it is unlimited AND I will do 5 colourations to randomly gift away.

This is a cool idea :D I can definitely see neat things coming of this. One thing I thought of immediately was tip-voting system, for say, putting up multiple sketches and people throwing money at the one they like best.
