Community Tip Jar Projects

This is probably not an appropriate jar, but we will pretend it is.

Community Tip Jar Projects is a section of the forums newly opened up. It is designed to allow artists to make real money off their designs for community-driven projects.

SCENARIO #1: In the first scenario, an artist can set a "tip jar" monetary threshold in which they will create a free PSD for anyone to use.

SCENARIO #2: In the case where you want to limit the number of PSDs or you make premades (without rules, exception being 'one custom per PSD/design') for your tip jar design, you can choose to run a free raffle with a minimum of five winners (maximum is up to you).

Read the extended rules and explanation here.

Have fun creating projects! We'll be closely watching this section to see how it turns out.

oooh this sounds really interesting =3 I'm slightly curious about the 'raffle' idea though, does that mean that not everyone who tips would receive a design?

Tips are sent to the e-mail designated on the individual artist's thread. The Unlimited PSDs need to be made available to the entire userbase. If the amount doesn't get filled, keep it open until it (presumably) gets filled. You are under no obligation to make anything unless you reach your promised threshold.

Raffles are not allowed to be limited to the tippers only. It must be available to any player who wants to enter, for free. The minimum is five pieces of content (PSD/premade etc) and the maximum is up to the artist.

So that means some people may tip for something which never gets fully funded and they wouldn't get a design or their money back? Or is this like a kickstarter in that if it doesnt get funded you dont have to pay?

What about in the event that something is over-tipped? Say you want $10 but your design is so super amazing people rush it and you end up with $100? I assume you'd need to refund the excess, but to who? And is it the tippers that have toaccept the refund fee?

Make the educated decision, looking at the threshold, whether you think it'll meet the threshold (or if you want to tip just to tip, even if you guesstimate it won't reach the threshold).

No, you don't have to refund an over-funded threshold. Congrats on making more than you expected. Content deadline starts when it's completely funded.

Nine isn't sure if she missed this or something. But are you allowed to do this multiple times? Lets say you reach the desired tip and produce the free PSD, but if you wish to do the same again would you be allowed to? Would you need to make a new board if yes, or keep it all to one?

You can do it as many times as you want. Whether you want to make a new board or keep them in one board is up to you.
