Site Update

All literary folks rejoice, the Library has been opened!

The building has been in disarray for a long time, preventing players from submitting Aywas-related stories and getting them published. It was planned to be one of our main features and we're glad we finally have it functional.

How it works:

Write a story (after reading the Knowledge Base for the rules), submit your story, and if it is accepted, it will be turned into a readable item on Aywas.

Your story can be read through the Library's reading feature and players can restock your book in the Little Book Store. For every sale made, you get a royalty, ensuring you small but reoccurring funds over your time on Aywas.

Enjoy!

OMG so excited. This is such an amazing chance for us non-artists!

Can we submit books that are more like nonfiction? For example during scav we had to write about the habits of an adventure monster, a book like that wouldn't have a plot or climax.

SUGGESTION: Let people know why their story was rejected. Not just "read the knowledge base". That's extremely unhelpful.

I didn't see an answer to this, so I shall ask here. [Yes, I checked the KB article].

Can we submit things in parts? I have an 8.6k word short story that I would to be able to post here on Ay, that also has two following short stories [the last one being closer to 2oK words though]. Would submitting it in parts be allowed, or does it HAVE to be all in one submission? If it does, then I really do think a word count increase would be a good idea. 2.5k is barely enough to have any real development ^^;;

Is it possible to make the Knowledge Base article more specific?

I am not a native speaker and the whole 'Be aware of how dialog is formatted in English and paragraphing standards' is somewhat confusing to me, as I have no idea how and where to find a specific list of these standarts.
I wouldn't know if I missed one required here.

Rule #8 is similarly vague, is it possible to give an example or two here?
I never even heard of 'purple prose' and my dictionary hasn't either.

I would really like to follow these rules, but currently it seems to be unnecessarily difficult to me.

a question, actually- are we permitted to submit sequels? or does every story need to be a stand alone thing?

As someone whose stick figures look deformed, I very much welcome this opportunity to contribute in some way. Speaking of which, I second the suggestion that we receive 'Contributor' status for so many accepted stories ....... It would also be GREAT if we could occasionally receive GP in pay, like artists get an opportunity for, in their genre.
