Change your passwords

Site Update

We have been made aware of a devastating bug in SSL software, explained here. It is important that you change any passwords associated with sensitive information, such as banking passwords, PayPal, etc. just in case. Changing your passwords everywhere is probably a good choice!

Stay safe!

Ugh I saw this and I'm so mad/worried >:| I forget passwords if I don't use a familiar one but all my familiar ones could be compromised.

Welp, looks like it's time for a whole new password set. Thanks for the update Slash. I'm guessing the patch has been applied already so it's safe to change them now and not worry about needing to do it again (barring unforseen circumstances) any time soon?

Sort of. "The bug was discovered and reported to the OpenSSL team by Neel Mehta of Googles security team. OpenSSL released an emergency patch for the bug along with a Security Advisory this afternoon." High security systems like banks and monetary systems probably patched their SSL already, but not all places have done it, I can only assume.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into this. I am so incredibly tired of security breaches D< I have to change my passwords every month these days because someone or another has been compromised! ARGHHSKDNGKNSDG *angry*

@1094
I feel the same, but better we forget them than people we don't know get them. :c

So if not all places have patched it yet.... Wouldn't changing my passwords at this point be pointless? Since the exploit can still be used anywhere that hasn't been patched? Certainly a huge thanks for the heads up though. Just trying to figure out how many times I will need to change my passwords before this is fixed..lol

This might help. It's a list of popular sites and shows if they're venerable or not. https://github.com/musalbas/heartbleed-masstest/blob/master/top1000.txt

All the sites where I have sensitive info such as paypal and stuff are safe. So I'm not toooooo worried. Yet. - L

That post was 21 hours ago, so I bet a lot of top sites have fixed it by now, like banks, credit, etc.
