PMBC and Married Pairs

Items

We unfortunately have an issue with married pairs taking up nearly the entire PMBC queue. While we're happy that the PMBC is being used more, this wasn't an intended result. A volume of married pairs this high makes the coin have very little profit, and in some cases, a loss.

As such, we unfortunately have to amend the PMBC rules to address this problem. From this point forward, pairs submitted via PMBC that are married will have a 30% chance of having a second offspring. Currently submitted pairs will not be affected by this change.

This should allow us to continue offering the PMBC instead of increasing the price (which would be illogical considering how close it is to the PLBC, which doesn't have this problem) or removing the coin entirely.

Sorry :(

I agree wholeheartedly with the change. Those whining can think about the site rather than their jumped up pixel babies. - L

Commenting again... I just... cant believe how many people are complaining, and even getting mad... Seriously... this is so confusing and kinda sad...

I bought a talisman so I could breed a married pair and while I'm a little sad about the change I understand it and I'm fine with it. The site needs to make money and with all the married pairs suddenly flooding the system something was bound to happen.

while i've always enjoyed the freedom allowed on this site...it's times like this when i'm reminded how entitled people really are raised to be these days. it's 1...count it *1* more pixel creation, not the end of the world here.

if having that *one* extra pixel creation defines your life right now...well, all i can do is say how sorry i am for you...and how i'd like to be in your shoes where nothing else in my life is more worrisome O.o

I love how everyone here is rushing to embrace this change when, as fair as it seems, is still really horrible. From a business perspective, it makes sense, sure. But again as I said earlier, a normal business has a backup for when something like this happens--backups that typically doesn't inconvenience their consumers.

@3734 I can understand your veiw Aporro, but they did have backup. The coin was always advertized from the day it was released to be experimental and we were fore-warned from the beginning the coin would undergo changes as they found problems, or be removed altogether. Those of us actively embracing the change were fully aware of the possibilities from day 1. So really, compared to what Aywanians were braced for while trying out this experimental coin, this was a great alternative when the coin turned out non-profitable due to a factor outside the staffs control (lets face it, WHO could have predicted almost every que being married pets when no other coin goes through that phenomenon?) They handled the experimental coin swimmingly, especially when they could have chosen, per their for-warning, to remove it and save themselves a headache.

Huh. Maybe marriage should not be an option if the system can't handle it.

So many people can't seem to read; this only effects PMBC, not any of the other breeding coins. So yeah, you get extra babies with those coins so stop acting so offended and victimized.

Also the 24 hour warning period is a terrible idea.
