Items
We unfortunately have an issue with married pairs taking up nearly the entire PMBC queue. While we're happy that the PMBC is being used more, this wasn't an intended result. A volume of married pairs this high makes the coin have very little profit, and in some cases, a loss.
As such, we unfortunately have to amend the PMBC rules to address this problem. From this point forward, pairs submitted via PMBC that are married will have a 30% chance of having a second offspring. Currently submitted pairs will not be affected by this change.
This should allow us to continue offering the PMBC instead of increasing the price (which would be illogical considering how close it is to the PLBC, which doesn't have this problem) or removing the coin entirely.
Sorry :(

I'm not sure I'm seeing how it could result in a loss? (I can see the very little profit part, but not the loss, unless it's caused by the promotional coins which is a temp issue). Would you mind explaining that a little more? I have no opinion on the change, as I don't intend on using the coin at all, but I'm just curious where the loss part is coming in.
PMBC = $9, artist pay = $3 per bab = max output of $6 = $3 profit. PMBC + Pen = $12 artist pay = $4 per bab = max output of $8 = $4 profit. PMBC Talisman = $24 = max output $18 = $6 profit. PMBC + Pens for all = $33 = max output of $24 = $9 profit.
So I can definitely see there being a small profit range sometimes, but if the promotional coins are not counted, I'm not seeing where the loss is coming from. (and I feel the promotional PMBCs are probably not the best idea if something like this was happening in the first place)

AH. Apologies for the comment above, I hadn't seen your post on the tumblr tag until a friend pointed it out. That clarifies that a little more(but I would suggest mentioning that in the news post to avoid other confusions). XD

There are also paypal fees (I believe), which are probably a decent chunk of each purchase XD ~Ryu

I understand why it's happening but I'm very disappointed. I bought a PMBC just so I could breed a married pair and I don't know if #4224 have submitted the breeding for their contest yet, which is supposed to give 2 babies as prizes for the winners - we were in the process of getting predicts for it so if it wasn't submitted yet, what do we do? I bought a pen to add to that breeding so the other winner and me could get exactly what we wanted...

@76 Do you have a different solution that could help the site out? I think this solution is better than pulling the item all-together :/

We get taxed anywhere from 30-40% (usually it's about 33% ish but just last month I had to pay 40%. The government hates small business.) so if the taxes hit at the wrong time, before an artist can be assigned the breeding and paid, we only have $5 left from the payment, which I'm sure you can see the issue from when the artist fee is $6 for two babies.

Sounds like a fantastic solution, I hope it works! Reminds me of back in the early days of breeding, haha. I dig the chance idea.

Maybe remind people they have the option of predicts with the use of the pen? The few I've talked with didn't know they could do that.
