PMBC - New System

Items

As we are experimenting with the mechanics of the Painted Metal Breeding Coin, we now have a new system to test out - unofficial breeding artists.

An unofficial breeding artist does work on commission for users with PMBCs and Painted Pens, and in turn gets paid by the site for their work. Please view the PMBC Shops section of the forums for information about this for artists and breeders.

Note that Painted Metal Breeding Coin breedings must have a Painted Pen attached to the breeding to utilize content from the PMBC shops.

PLBC didn't have that problem and had 6-8 artists right off the bat. I'd have two artists, sometimes three, waiting out of four for PMBC to finally reach 5 breedings so I could assign a list to one of them. Anyway, unofficial breeding artists don't get paid more than official breeding artists, that's the point of predict caps in the first place. The USD cap for a predict is lower than what official artists get paid in USD contracts because official artists are the ones who deserve the perks for putting up with additional constraints and difficulties associated with the job. I can't imagine you'd expect to get the goldenrod breeding artist title or Embryo Pearls or other breeding incentives for submitting predicts, would you?

Personally I like the solution to the tumblr posted question about which artists people wanted. Yeah, I'd like to have the breeding artist or contributor label as well as a few of the other perks but I figure that this would be good practice for me to earn one of those spots.

I actually have been toying with how an unofficial breeding artist system could work (in general, not necessarily on Aywas) in my head for months, so this is pretty interesting to see happen. And as someone who can't manage additional official breeding lists because of time restraints, but still likes the idea of being able to do additioal breedings on my own time, this is pretty cool. -Nomad

I actually like this idea. Not only is it great practice for those of us who want to be on the official breeding team one day, but to also get something more for our work? It's pretty awesome. It also gives more talented artists a chance to get themselves better known, which is sometimes tough, at least in my own experience. I'll definitely be trying my luck and opening my own predicts store soon!

Very nice thing implemented.

Amazing idea, though I think the artists should be given other options of payment, such as SP.
I'd personally would rather get SP than money via PayPal as I'm not from USA so I can only spend the latter on eBay or virtual goods.

It's a great idea, but I was wondering.

Does that mean that PMBC artists with a shop can do their own predicts and get paid under the system or will they have to find another artist?

IF ONLY I HAD A PAYPAL...

And I agree with the Unicorn. I also live outside the US so I'd rather have SP or even GP. I'll do this pmbc predict thing if so.

@Unicorn @Ethylene
Actually you can let paypal transfer the money to your bank account, this also work for non-US users... :S
