PMBC - New System

Items

As we are experimenting with the mechanics of the Painted Metal Breeding Coin, we now have a new system to test out - unofficial breeding artists.

An unofficial breeding artist does work on commission for users with PMBCs and Painted Pens, and in turn gets paid by the site for their work. Please view the PMBC Shops section of the forums for information about this for artists and breeders.

Note that Painted Metal Breeding Coin breedings must have a Painted Pen attached to the breeding to utilize content from the PMBC shops.

So im guessing the artists dont have the ability to get site pet psds? and as a breeder you would have to find them?

Yeah unfortunately the site pet PSDs wouldn't be available, nor the e-mail :( They're under security.

Hey Slash - didn't you just recently approve a $1 pay increase for breedings with Pens? If so - why are the predict shop artists only being paid $3 rather than $4 per predict they make?

A $1 pay increase is for official site artists asked for with a pen.

So, you're making less work for official artists and not bothering to pay the unofficial artists the same rate for doing the exact same thing? Actually, predict artists would be doing -more- work, since they are commissions that must meet the buyer's approval, rather than prompts that the artist can do what they please for. This does not seem fair at all!

There would be no incentive for an artist to be on the PMBC team at all otherwise, because they don't have the list deadline in the PMBC Shop and they can pick and choose which prompts they want to take unlike with official list work. The price increase is an incentive for official artists to do a better job and be requested. It is not unfair and it will not be changed.

How about the incentive of getting all the breedings that do not have Pens attached? There's got to be a fair amount of those, and they'll be split up amongst the official artists, thereby giving them more jobs than they'd get with a predict shop.

That'd be a legitimate incentive if there were actually PMBC breedings submitted on a regular basis, but there aren't. Not to mention, that incentive would be even more minimized now, as it's more likely that a user would pick a PMBC Shop artist of their specification than gamble with an official artist.

These coins have been available for less than 2 weeks. People have said they are waiting to see how things go before submitting, that it is a little more difficult finding pairs, etc. There were also only 4 artists before, and it took DAYS for who they even were to become public knowledge. Some people like me are receiving coins as payment for commission work and thus can't submit just yet. There are lots of reasons why coins aren't being submitted regularly yet.
