Site Update

We're saying goodbye to these guys today!

Flaming Metal Custom Orb

Put down those pitchforks, I'm not taking away your custom making items, they're all transmuting into this snazzy new thing:

Ashen Custom Orb

Which should be a bit less of a mouthful, and give us nicely matching sets of custom creators for all the Uncommons. :3

PSD, PSD, where's that PSD?
If you're looking for one of these, perhaps an archive might be of assistance. n_n
Collab Crazy - For Collab Crayons
Scav Markers- For Scav Markers 2013
Scav Silvers 2013- for Metal, Blue and Gold Scav Paint 2013

These links have taken up residence in the Alt and Event PSD's thread, so should be fairly easy to get to in the future.

TWEEEET!

As a parting reminder, some notes about customs.
Anything kicked today from the custom queue has been logged - simply fix the issue and resubmit your doggy, it'll pass as a prior submission, regardless of deadline. The Mongrel Founders for Dog Week are 8% different. That means you have only 22% edits left to work with.

About 3rd party brushes - the brushes that come with your software are fine to use, but 99% of the downloadable brush sets (nozzles, stamps, premade brushes, etc.) out there do not meet the criteria to be used on Aywas - which means if we find out your pet has been made with them later on, it gets deleted without refund*. Please, please please avoid using other people's brushes unless they are free for commercial use, and absolutely no attribution is required of any kind. It's not worth the risk otherwise. ;__;

Now I must flee back to the custom queue, there's a veritable horde of doggies to process!

*In the event a design was purchased from another player, it's the artist who would be punished for breaking the rules, not the buyer. The pet would have to be redone to remove the infringing material, but would not be deleted.

Hmm for the brushes not allowed to use, is it the artist's duty to check or the people who buy the designs or commissioned them? Coz we might not know if we are not that artistically inclined. They can also tell us they draw it by hand and not using brushes. :\

If we buy a premade or otherwise design not made by ourself, how are we supposed to know what kind of brushes or effects they used on it? I cant even open psds, let alone figure out what was used on them to create them.

Not only that but it was previously permissible to use them provided you put the permissions and the brush information on the pets. This is a bit ridiculous.

All the brushes I've ever used the artist said they were free to use. How do you know for sure if they're free or not? It would be unfair to delete a pet made with free brushes when the artist said they were free.

I think this means artists on site have to be more transparent about what brushes they use. If you're unsure, ask the artist who made it. If it gets denied, go to the artist. - L

Dellessanna - that rule has been in place for a while, at least since 2011. Thread: https://www.aywas.com/forum/topic/92568/ You can't use brushes/patterns on Aywas pets unless it requires no credit and is allowed for commercial purposes. We require that you document the brushes on the pet so that there's a record of what brushes you used and we can verify that they meet the above criteria. Does that clear up what the documentation is for? - Eri

In the event the design was purchased, and found to be rule-breaking, it'd be the artist who gets punished, not the buyer. The custom would have to be redone without the use of brushes, but you wouldn't lose the pet. It's an artist's responsibility to ensure all material they use is legal, and to document that fact, permanently. All in all, it's just way better to make your own brushes and avoid the headache.

Thanks for the clarification Gray. <3
