Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

Oh man, just about anything frim Tamora Pierce is awesome, but a good place to start is with Song of the Lioness, the first Lioness Rampant book. It's a beautiful opening to a fantastic universe, with lots of magic and intrigue and defying gender roles. Each of the books builds on the previous ones, yet it never seems to hit that odd stale spot some of the other longer series eventually hit (poor Xanth, I still love you!)
I absolutely love Alanna, she's brash without being too boyish, and yet very deep.
Heck, if you liked Mulan, and Harry Potter, and short but GOOD books, totally pick this up, then go for its siblings and cousins, and just go devour all her stuff -^^-

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is a fantastic read. If you are into the erotica/fantasy/action type of books. :) They are most worth checking out. :D

I am currently reading Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire and it is my favourite book series along with Harry Potter. So many twists and turns in the story you just CANT predict, you just cant stop reading and you just connect with the characters,in either a good or bad way. I love reading it,even with its sad moments :)

In the Non-Fiction category, I love anything written by William L. Shirer. He was a foreign corespondent to Europe, lived in Spain during the Spanish Civil War, and then in Germany and France during WWII. He's a good author, and it's fascinating to read what he experienced in his lifetime and realize that this is not historical fiction - it's fact.

My favorite book is " The Hobbit ", because it's happy and cheerful at parts, but also sort of scary and action filled. :)

It's so hard to Pick just one series, but at the moment I'm a huge fan of Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli and Isles Mysteries. TNT ha a television show that was in part adapted from the first book, The Surgeon, but as with most television shows based on books, there is a major cannon division. If you're looking for crime mystery books, these are an interesting set to pick up.

The Door in the Wall, by Marguerite de Angeli. I read it as a kid and it has always stuck with me. It's a very well written book, and is set in England during the Middle Ages. It follows the story of a young boy who is sent off to become a knight, but he loses the use of his legs, and the plague is attacking England at the same time.

I loved Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Was such a gripping read and the ending definitely caught me by surprise the first time I read it.
