Yup, the artists get PP. 2 PP per item sold, since it's divisible by three.

I dislike the idea of trunks because I'm mixxing and matching between these sets. I hope we have the option of buying separately still as well as in a trunk

Yes, you'll still have the option to buy separately. They'll still be (for example) 3 GP per item, but if there were 5 items and it'd cost 15 GP to get them separately, you'd pay 10 GP for a trunk or something.
