Site Update

0.47% full, using 9.7 GB of your 2.01 TB

Why is the above such an important and exciting thing to report? This means the Aywas Breeding Email is no longer in danger of hitting space capacity! The above is the space we now have for the Aywas Breeding Drive, thanks to Google Drive's awesomeness. Slash upgraded us tonight and this means a big announcement for how users will send PSD files to us, among other things.

Gmail was a finicky thing for awhile, and required searching by email name for things -- thus, we needed users to name their email titles with the ID of their custom and that was sufficient. Drive, however, stores the actual files, so the file itself needs to be named in order to find it. This means there's no more problems locating a PSD file, it should be able to be found with ease!

However this will mean that we need some help from the users. From now on we request that all files sent to [email protected] now have the actual PSD file labeled with the ID of your pet as well. Why? That way when we download and extract the file to upload to Drive, we won't have to rename it, and the process will go by a lot faster.

Please note however that we do not want you re-sending files in that you already have sent previously. Those will be taken care of gradually until all files are moved to Drive. From now on, name your PSD files with the above information and it'll help us a lot.

Remember, that now means:

NO: fluffymeloswirlcake.psd
YES: 293812.psd

We also could use some people that have time on their hands to begin moving files over to Drive. It's going to be a long process, but this will make it tons easier for us to also send files off to users in the future if requested. We may be able to regularly maintain a request thread if we get this done. It was something we were going to do in the past, but the off-site method we had going on just didn't work out as planned. Drive, however, is going to really help us out with sorting and filing for us OCD organizers on staff.

If you're interested in helping maintain the Drive account, email me at [email protected] with a bit of info below...

1. Username/ID:
2. How long you've been on Aywas:
3. Are you familiar with Gmail and Drive, and how to navigate them?:
4. How many hours can you dedicate per week to moving files to the Drive?:
5. List any notable accomplishments you have had on the site thus far:
6. Any other information you want to add:

The above questions are to make sure there's trustworthy people accessing the Gmail account. We're looking for probably 3-4 people to start, and there will be at least GP compensation for those that want to volunteer.

This is certainly a fun upgrade, and it means that we'll be able to maintain your babbies and customs a lot better. We promise to use only ethical means to herd them to their new home!

I don't know that I'd have the time to do this, but I'm really happy to see the request for volunteers. I hope you get some great people to help you out!

Okay, couple of questions.

1) Can you send multiple emails per PSD now or do you want ONE email PER psd?
2) What do you want the subject line to read now?

Lunarflight: Same subject line, the ID! And you can send multiples so long as they're labeled correctly.

Hnnngh, I have all the time in the world but I'm pretty lame when it comes to previous contributions to the site, so no 'experience' as such, haha. Good luck on updating everything, guys!
