Contests
Each story contest will have a theme and basic rules, but other than that you can write in whatever way your heart desires! Unlike the Story Game, this contest empowers you to write on your own instead of relying on someone else's content.
Contest 1 Theme: Write a short story (1000-5000 words) about the events surrounding the "Please Return Fluffy" note.
If you don't know who Fluffy is, you need to spend some more time in Adventure. *wink*

Good luck! I expect to see lots of our resident writers come out of the woodwork for this. :3

I am glad I am not the only one who has a little pang of guilt.

In all honesty, I have no intention of entering this... With some of the entries that have won the story games compared to some of the losing entries I've seen..... Sorry to be negative but I have no interest whatsoever.

Kamorth, I share some of your opinions. I believe it's mostly that the story mod has much different (the word that comes to mind is natural) views and tastes on writing/literature/novels/stories than me, and many other people.

^^;; I love the idea, but I do sort of share the same sentiment as Kamorth does. Some of the Story Game "winning" entries are... well, yeah. This does seem interesting though, so I might give it a try?

Kamorth - I'm not sure what exactly your referring to, but I judge the story contest very differently from how I would judge a natural writing contest. The problem with judging the story contest is the same problem of freedom that many of the writers have complained about in writing for it. Rather than paying attention to the writing quality, story flow, character development and all the nice, juicy subtletiies you get with a single author, I focus on the ability of the next writer to pick up the story and how the pacing on each entry matches with the number of weeks left in the story.
However, if you believe that your ideas on writing will not mesh with mine, then feel free not to join. I'm merely looking for more opportunities for the writers to participate in site contests, as many have requested in the past. Thank you for your commentary!

I only feel bad for .2 seconds every time I take the ransom money meant for Fluffy's safe return. Sorry little buddy.
