If you haven't already heard of Kony 2012...
This video is trying to publicize the horrific actions of Joseph Kony, who abducts children and forces them to be child soldiers. The goal of the campaign is to have Joseph Kony arrested.
I think it is important. Please watch the video.
You can find more information at https://www.kony2012.com (it seems to be experiencing heavy traffic right now)

30,000 kids. ...I really don't understand how one man could do such a thing. This is really sad. :(

I saw posters regarding this all over my local library today, but I didn't have time to stop and look at them. Thank you for posting this. I... I needed to see this.

My school has been publicizing this event for about a year or so. Last year Invisible Children reps came to our school, and they are coming back this Friday. I think it's great that you are helping raise awareness, Slash!

(in response to various comments) #1 - the USA is involved in what areas we as foreign nationals are able and enitiled to be...the relegious umbrella has been legally removed and the "army" listed as a terrorist oragnization. #2 - he cannot be "arrested", that is an action only his own country can take. #3 - the only way to move against him and/or his oragnization is via the UN, and even that is very limited - sanctions against Uganda will hurt the people there more than Kony. #4 - if you want your money to go to the children of Uganda and do some actual good, there are far more efficient charities than this one, regrettably...and money will not help stop Kony in ANY way, no matter who it's given to. #5 - Kony is neither the only or the most heinous example of child conscription : China during the revolution is probably the most glaring. #6 - while the video is beautifully made, i could like more meat and less flashy drama...though no doubt the glitz effect is helping make it popular. #7 - before getting involved with ANYONE who asks for your money, look at more than one item/site. google Kony, there is a LOT of info out there - not all of which agrees - and a lot of ways to get involved that do not involve financial contribution, or support of any one charity.

I can understand that Slash wants to share this, but I would prefer if there would be a bit more research before posting anything like this.
People don't always do research on their own and are ready to jump in to help people in need - which is an amazing thing to do, no doubt.
But in this case, the facts are just against helping this organisation. The biggest one - for me - is the fact that the video was made in 2003. It has been 8-9 years till then and the situation is a lot of different now.
So please, people, use search engines, gather your own informations and then decide if you want to spent your hard earned money on an organisation that - in my humble opinion - doesn't deserve it.
