Breeding Add Ons
The first batch of breeding add-ons have been released. They can be found in the BP Shop.
If you have additional ideas for an add on, please comment on this news post with your ideas. :) Taking a look at the sort of stuff we've released already is a good indication of the sort of ideas we want! I'd be happy to send you one of your idea item if your idea is accepted.
There is one more breeding add on item, but it is not for sale. It is contest prize only.
Artist Ticket, which allows you to select your breeding artist.
The Standing Fruit will function like a Raffle Crystal. On 8/17/2011, a selection of winners will be randomly drawn for these breeding-related prizes:
Breeding Coin, Lesser Breeding Coin (5 winners), Artist Ticket, Hybrid Embryo (2 winners), Silver Breeding Upgrade (2 winners), Artist Pallet (2 winners), Greater Fertility Potion, Edit Potion... for a total of 15 separate winners.
Unlike a Raffle Crystal, any Standing Fruits that are not selected as winners will not be deleted, so you may keep them for collectible purposes.

I dunno, this one just came to mind:
Rare Embryo - Get a rare species from your breeding! (BC breedings only) Obviously has to be quite expensive and whatnot, Xaoc maybe only that 1% chance again? ~PPaws

The former idea still confuses me (pay more for less? Outside of RP I see no reason for it...), but the latter makes a lot of sense. Thanks for explaining it to me ^^

Ooh, I don't have any golds so I've never thought about them before, but the clutter they could cause makes wvwn more sense as a justification.

Sweet breeding addons.
-I agree with the suggestion for a 'retro' potion that allows you to get an old line babby, if only for hybrids[because I can imagine it being hard on LBC artists because the edits would have to be redrawn or refitted onto the old base for LBC pets]. For people who like the old Quetzal etc before the redraws, or the Folium/Shu which were redrawn very quickly after release.
-Maybe an item that adds in a random color into the markings [instead of changing the entire palette] so breeding two pure whites with gray markings for example could make a white with red markings, etc. It wouldn't affect the base, but a random marking color would get replaced.
-Maybe an item that in conjunction with predicts allows less restrictive color rules to be used [so color mixing with filters being allowed, and small areas of color being able to be used for predicts with the item on them, but there would still have to be some logic to them, no taking colors from nowhere]. That would be a nice solution to the predict problems as of late, I think.
-A fairly cheap item to get a babby with no edits at all. If you want to do a quick and clean breeding of if you want to breed SCCs together without one taking edits from the other species.
-A token item to indicate you will be doing predicts, allowing you some time to get predicts done. Breedings with the token wouldn't be assigned to an artist list. After a really long time [3+ months] of inactivity, the breeding could be canceled and the items used refunded, to keep the list from getting too cluttered up.
-Glitter potion. Adds a random sparkle or aura edit to the babbies, works with LBP and BC.
-Rainbow potion. Replaces one marking color on the offspring by a rainbow gradient. Doesn't have to be a set brightness, so you may get a pastel rainbow marking, or a very dark one.
-and maybe potions for LBC breedings to guarantee a certain edit passes on to both babbies, for common edit types only? Ear, tail, hair/mane, wings, horns/antlers, jewelry[and vines etc],Aura/glow, face[including eye/mouth edits, but not ear ones], legs[including claws and leg fluff and such]. With a limit of a single one being used per breeding. And if both parents have an edit of that kind it would assure the babbies both get the same one. [which one would still be up to the artist though]

I think there should be an add-on for RBCs. Perhaps one that guarantees a mutant baby (even though it's still 80% chance for one...). Or another one that guarantees a normal baby (note: it could be hybrid, but it doesn't have to be; this item wouldn't guarantee hybrids; it would just guarantee a non-mutant baby). We have a book of zombification. How about an item that turns the offspring into kawaii sparkle pretty shiny babies? xD

...also: How about an item for LBCs that gives you a random pet genus (of course excluding hybrids and rare genus)? Like melo x melo LBC breeding with the add-on could give you soli offspring. I think that would be fun for those that can't afford or don't use BCs often. I'm not sure if this is possible though with some of the edits like hair and tails being specific for that particular genus, but .... just throwing this out there. :)

I WANT SOMETHING THAT GIVES ME SPARKLE BABIES ;o; Or rainbow, or just something completely ridiculous and cute <3 Fffff if they were allowed with predicts i would have so much funnn.
Oh by the way, I totally love ALL of these add ons, forreal. Especially the one that allows you to only have one baby, which i wish I had waited for, but, it is nice to know that it's there to use in the future <3 I love the edit potion the most though ;w;

There's plenty of parents I've come across that would have been better off having one child instead of two, or two instead of one. Trust me when I say if you breed two golds that have two babbies with only 30% between them look terrible almost every single time.
